HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

That could be a good idea @TAB. My blood results came back and they weren't good. High cholesterol, very high liver enzymes, very low on folate and a few others I can't remember

Re: HOME

Last time I had bloods liver was high, but it depends which doctor interprets it. One smiled and said nothing to worry about. Another expressed concern. My take on that is their background. My cholesterol is usually low somehow. I should ask for a copy of results to look for myself. @utopia Also in other countries ie medical systems , things like sprouts (kidneys) and milk thistle (liver) carry more weight notso here. Sprouts is proven. That Bill from AA has own take on vitamins and swore by them, caused a schism.. apparently walking and water and fruit veg good for liver too @utopia

Re: HOME

@Shaz51. My Labrador that ate my sons chocolate is okay now. My little Maltese Shitzu had a very crook stomach yesterday but is fine today. The little one often gets sick. I can't feed her any meat. Only dry food. Her stomach is just too sensitive.
I've just come back from my psychologist appointment. Was good. Next fortnight he wants me to bring in all my WorkCover psych reviews. He's been going over my notes for the past year and a half. He's wondering if there is a pattern - that my depression hits a few weeks after my WorkCover reviews. He's wondering if they stress me so much that I fall back in a heap. Will be interesting to compare the dates and see.
He notes that my mood the past few weeks is on a slow and steady improvement. But my behavior is on a steady decline. Meaning I'm not sticking to a sleep routine, housework routine or food routine. So I'm going to have to pull up my socks a bit.
Next week school starts again in Victoria, so I'll set my alarm and be up early. Might feel over tired for a week until my sleep pattern is restored.
18 days no drinking. I really think that has helped my mood a lot.
How have you been doing? And Mr Shaz? - has he spoken to the mental health team yet?
I hope you are well and going strong. ♥♡♥

@Shaz51

i think it is a really good idea to get copies of blood test results. i have 6 weekly bloods done for medication im on for my Rheumatoid Arthritis and i always request copies of blood tests when mum has one done. that way i can keep a close eye on how things are progressing. i think it is important for us to know what is going on with our health. plus, if we do have concerns we can always contact the doctor and discuss with them. xx

Re: HOME

@Shaz51

i guess it depends on the gp buy my mum's gp gives me copies of letters from her specialists and any xray, scan, ultrasound reports so i have a copy of it. i appreciate it as she is fully transparent and keeps me in the loop as she knows i like to be informed about things. helps me to keep on top of what is going on with her health. can be a bit overwhelming at times but for me it does give me peace of mind. x

Re: HOME

@Shaz51. Sorry Mr Shaz isn't on board yet with the diagnosis and medications. I believe it's quite normal for people avoid acknowledging their MI. Such a pity. Mixing and playing with meds won't be helping. But I'm sure you already know that. But Mr Shaz just isn't hearing.
Has his behavior with you been okay? Or is he running you ragged?
