HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

He is increasing my meds again tomorrow.
Nad day today. Super exhausted from yesterdays incident.
Then 2 big women fighting. Lots of staff needed to interveen. Scary. Burst into tears again.

Oh @utopiathat’s not great ...... 😔

Is there something you can do to self-care while you are there ? Can you talk to one of the staff about these incidents, or will that not help ?

Feeling for you Hon .... 💜💐

Re: HOME

@Faith-and-Hope I'm not sure what will help. I spoke with my nurse yesterday about the patient beimg removed by ambos and police.
Very bored. Very restless here today. So have slept most of the day.
Just don't know what to do.

Re: HOME

Sounds like you could do with a vacation @utopia. If you could go anywhere, where would it be?

There's a Cockatoo Island but that's in Sydney Harbour so I think somewhere a bit more remote and idyllic would be preferable. No jackhammers or people fighting.

How about here? This is Bora Bora. Looks great doesn't it?

Re: HOME

@soul somewhere peaceful warm and with a mountain and stream.
As far away from a building undergoing constant renovations and extensions

Hi @soul - Bora Bora is stunning, it really does look like that, I went there a couple of years back - was a bucket list destination. Very expensive and definitely a once off trip but totally worth it. The snorkelling is amazing. Like swimming in a giant tropical fish tank. Won't be doing any trips like that ever again. Annoying that they are doing the capital works now @utopia - most hospitals wait for a quite time with low occupancy like Christmas or Easter to do the noisy stuff. I guess with private hospitals it's all about getting people into beds to maximise $$$$ from the health funds. I hope things settle down with the meds - there is always that awkward "getting to know you" phase while your brain sorts out the new chemicals. Pity they don't just work straight away. I hope the rest of the week is quiet and you get a chance to go to some groups. Would love to see some of your artwork.

Re: HOME

Today has been good. Did Art Therapy. Tje topic today was calm.
So I stuck gum leaves and ribbons and cotton wool balls and bark on my paper.
The creek, the smell of gum leaves, the noise of the Cockies, the spotting of native animals, the sun on my skin, the breeze on my skin. The sound of wind and water.
Then she asked what is stopping me from getting to that calming place.
I think it is a form of self punishment or self sabotage. The 'I don't deserve' thoughts.
So then I had to draw my self punishment.
My hands bound together
My chaotic brain
A whipping stick
A robot - coz I don't feel human
A love heart with a big cross through it - because I don't deserve love

So that was eye opening.
Then I went to a group on Values. Was a small group and we all opened up and worked well together.
Was hard to think of what my values would be & if they would be the same as before.
But after a few exercises - I worked out my top 4. Need a top 5 - nut I'm tossing up between a few.
Still struggling with the question 'what is your strengths'.
Hopefully I'll be able to answer that once my mood increases and my motivation and energy start coming back
