HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia,
I just wanted to jump in.
I don't know what happened to you, and I hope it's nothing permanent. But having had repeated surgeries and a severed nerve and connective tissue disease on my left arm - it sucks not being able to use it, but over a few weeks you will adapt quite a lot.
It totally sucks and is soooo frustrating, but it does get easier.
Hope you heal up well.

Re: HOME

@Former-Member. It is only a temporary situation. My suture line keeps opening - so we have had to bandage my arm straight for a week or so.
Am just frustrated and having a whinge over something small.

Re: HOME

It's NOT something small!!! Your arm is out of action. It could be amputated, broken or just a sore shoulder. It's the same outcome - you can't use your arm.
I'm not sure what you had sutured, but that sucks too. I just wanted to let you know that there's someone out there that gets how frustrating it is and doesn't think you're just having a whinge and hopes that it gets better soon.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia - It's no fun having an arm out of action. It's OK when you've got a sling because you can still do stuff with your hand. I can relate to the one-armed scenario - I've broken my wrist, dislocated my elbow twice and had various dislocated fingers. A few years back I cut the end of my middle finger off and had it stitched back on. Problem was the doctor strapped it all up with the middle finger extended and the other fingers strapped down so I was making an obscene gesture for 10 days till the stitches came out I hope your arm is OK soon - Have a good night.

Re: HOME

Lol @Former-Member. Obviously the doctor didn't think before he strapped up your finger. Lol

Oh, that’s hilarious to read about @Former-Member ..... although I am sure it wasn’t in the living of it .....

Re: HOME

Saw the doctor. Got my arm unbandaged. Can now use my right arm and bend it. Yay!!! Suture line closed, but I've been warned it could openeasily again, so take things easy for aanother week.
Saw my psychologist. Was a good appointment but now I'm feeling very teary. Maybe it's the weather. It's gone from hot sunny days to cold dark grey day.
Still no motivation or energy to do anything. My head us still empty. So the days go long. But there is no overwhelming sense of depression. So I'm starting to get better. Slowly slowly.
