HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia - sounds like a busy week. I'm not a fan of people in my personal space either. With the tree people I suppose you can disappear for the day? Go for a drive or a bush walk maybe. Good that you're getting some movement with the case worker - I wouldn't worry about the state of your house... you can bet that they've seen far worse. Anyway they are there to see you not pass judgement on your housekeeping skills. Your breathing doesn't sound good - doc will probably arrange a chest xray. Might be an anxiety thing or asthma? Always best to get these things checked out. How does the centrelink stuff work - do you need them to authorise workcover payments? I'm just asking as I have no income so I'll have to go to centrelink at some stage. Not looking forward to that - I really don't want to work at the moment while I'm still getting my head together after what I've been through this year but don't want to go down the workcover path either. My GP is good - he'll sign off on a medical certificate if I need one but the plan is to study next year anyhow. The tattoo sounds good -will it be finished in one sitting?

Re: HOME

@Former-Member. I get Workcover based on 80% of my original part time job. Because the payment is so low, I also get a part parenting payment or now called Newstart allowance from Centrelink as well. But to be paid my centrelink benefits i must be looking for work, and I cannot do that at the moment. That's why I need a medical certificate - exempting me from having to look for work for another month or two.

Then each month I also have to put in a Workcover claim form. My gp fills this out. Stating whether i am fit to work or not. This I then email to Workcover and my ex employer, so that they will pay me the Workcover payment.

Being on both payments I can survive. When Workcover cut my payments off for 6 months, I couldn't pay my mortgage and bills just with the centrelink payments. I'm glad they have finally reinstated the workcover payments again. That was a huge stress i don't want to go through again.

It will probably help the worker to see my house anyway. To see how I live and how i am struggling. That way he will know what help i need from him and his service. But still. Nobody wants others to see their messy houses..

I've taken some calming medication and slowely my anxiety is lessening.

I have to get up at 7 am tomorrow. I normally wake up after 10am. So will be a shock to the system.

Re: HOME

Hi @Shaz51. I'm not good. I'm all disoriented. The guys came and cut down my large tree finally. I'd been wanting it gone for years and finally had the money. I was happy with their work.
Just had a sleep and woke up. Went outside just then to have a smoke & the whole thing looks wrong. It is now a big open space. I can see the fence. I'll be able to see the neighbours and they'll be able to see me. No privacy. It will take too much effort to plant out the fence for privacy and too many years for it to grow.
Instant panic and worry. I don't like it. It doesn'tfeel right or safe in my bbackyard anymore.
It's like when you get a dramatic haircut and it's all wrong and you are stuck with it. It will take forever to grow back.
Instantly in a depressive mood. Want to cry, but can't. Everything looks and feels wrong now.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia - I can imagine that it was a shock to see it gone. Have you thought about putting lattice on the fence and growing climbers like wisteria? They grow very quickly or plant something like lilly pilly that gets very bushy. Hope you're feeling better - probably might just take some getting used to.

Re: HOME

Aw no - @utopia

What a bummer - I understand - what can I say

The Body Corporate here and the man next door insisted I get rid of the thick and wonderful vines in my back court yard - because of insurance issues - and I loved it and I miss it - and the other man next door keeps asking me if I don't mind if he cuts back the vines that actually grow in his courtyard - and

I could cry my eyes out 😭 - I really miss all the green out there and the bugs and birds and possums that lived in all the dense foliage - the trouble was it was getting into the gutters next door -

So I understand Utopia - definitely a painful sight and you are so fragile right now

Whatever you choose to do it will take time so now you need to be in grieving-mode - it's so hard to cope with that

I am so sorry Utopia 😭
