HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Might be able to fit into some of my clothes I had before I put weight on with one of the previous meds @utopia - still around 7-10 kgs over where I was before I got sick but getting there slowly.

I don't celebrate Australia day either so will probably be doing some more work rather than attending any events on Saturday - there will no doubt be tennis on I can watch too.

You have done entirely the right thing with your son and if he doesn't understand why yuo made that decision then that actually shows he is not mature enough to handle such a party anyway.

Re: HOME

Thank you @Zoe7. And glad to know you have clothes that will fit.

I've gained over 20 kg. Aaarrrggghhh

Re: HOME

I also gained 20kgs on one of my previous meds @utopia. I have lost just over half of that but still some way to go. So I completely understand how gaining weight can also influence how we fee about ourselves - especially if you need new clothes because the ones you have always worn no longer fit. I am much happier on different meds and having lost a little of that weight ...not yet back to what I was but getting there slowly.

@Zoe7 @utopia
Apologies for butting in but I just had to say how thrilled I am to hear that you're doing so much better!
Zoe, I'll be thinking of you as you return to the workforce and settle in to the new school. utopia, it took me quite a while to adjust to the non depressed state. After a few weeks I did discover that I had more contentment than I realised. I was so busy waiting for the depression to take over again but it hasn't so far and it will be 3 years next month!
In that interim period I set myself just 2 things I had to do each day. One task that I had to do and one task that was for my personal enjoyment.
Hugzzz to you both! I'm grinning from ear to ear st the moment.
Luv n Hugzzz 👏💓👏

@Kurra It is so lovely to see you here - it seems like forever that I have chatted to you. I love your idea of setting one thing you have to do and one thing that is just for you. We often get so bogged down with the things we have to do but forget to do things that we can get enjoyment out of. It is also heartening that it has been 3 years since your depression lifted - mine is beginning to do the same but like @utopia it is the motivation that often alludes me. I will be happy to finally find out where I will be going this year and getn things organised.

Re: HOME

It has been amazing @utopia but I never take it for granted! However, the longer I go without any episodes the greater the likelihood of my becoming careless. Let's hope not.

I'm moving back to rural NSW in just over a week so that will be another big change in my life. I must say, retirement suits me well. I'm far more relaxed than I think I've ever been and believe it or not, I'm also busier than ever. I'm doing a lot of volunteering with a rural program designed to help farmers suffering from this dreadful drought.
Miracles do happen Utopia. In my thoughts. Luv n Hugzzz 💕🎶💕

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia

I’m coping as best I csn under the circumstances. Our daughter snd ayla moved back in with us. She snd her partner hsve split. I say thank god. If you want to have a read just go yo my post “ not feeling good”.

Just been reading about weight gain. I have put on about 10-15kg. I know it’s the medication. It’s so frustrating. I had to recently buy a bigger size in clothes.

How is your son going?

I hope you are well. It’s so busy where I live. I csnt wait for all the tourists to go home. I kniw it’s good for businesses but it’s just crazy.
