HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

My old town had one Chinese takeaway that turned into an Italian restaurant. That was it. One main street. @utopia

Re: HOME

The Conciliation Hearing have just changed the time for my hearing. It's no longer at 10.30. It's now at 12.30. No big change in the scheme of it. Well maybe not to someone 'normal' or who doesn't live this 'life' I have. But it's shaken me up. Anxiety is getting really strong. I'm trying to do Sodoku to calm down. But when I'm this anxious, I can't get them right.
I really hate that they are doing this to me.
My lawyer just wants me to say how I've been FEELING. Keep it to feelings!!!! That's really hard. I told him I won't be taking any calmers before I go in, because they numb me and I end up talking about things like I'm reading a shopping list. So still have to be in town tomorrow at the same time. Mum needs to do some things in the big town. But now I have to do it for longer without calmers. Already struggling not to cry.
I really really aren't looking forward to this.
There are 4 outcomes we can get tomorrow.
1 - They find both parties (me and Insurance co) cannot agree - so they will send me to a medical board hearing.
2 - they will find bith parties can't agree - so then, I will have to go to court (takes years) & this is just to get back onto Workcover payments.
3 - They say I didn't have a capacity but I do now & they offer me a settlement - for a few months backpay and pay me out & then I no longer have a Workcover claim. So they won't pay for treatment or hospital.
4 - They agree with me - backpay to March when they cut me off payments & reinstall me to normal fortnightly payments - with full medical cover - the same I had for 130 weeks.
We want number 1 to be the outcome. Number 4 is not going to happen accirding to my lawyer. And I cannot rake a payout that terminates my Workcover entitlements.

Re: HOME

Wow @utopia - that is a really important meeting that you have tomorrow. At least after that, there may be some clarity as to what's going to happen. Do you know when they will hand down their decision?

It's hard when you have geared yourself up to when appointments are and then they change.

I hope you can get some calmness before then. Are there some herbal sedatives that you could use to take the edge off perhaps?

I hope you get a good outcome and that it is sorted out sooner rather than later for you.

Re: HOME

Sheesh @utopia

What a horrible time and how can you ever get through this?

I'm sitting here staring at my computer wondering what on earth to say - it feels terrible - I am asking myself how I would get through it

I just read through the possible outcomes and I guess what you need is full medical cover and fortnightly payments - and nothing there can ever cover the trauma you have been through

And a court case - takes years - darn

It seems as if whatever happened at work traumatised you and now you are stuck trying to prove that and the whole process makes it worse - and now - after a lot of hospitals and treatment and medication - tada tada - etc and whatever -

Esp just after all that hospital time help you recover

You are being put through having to prove how disastrous this has been

Sure - Work Cover wants people back at work but wouldn't it be easier to have people actually Re-Cover first

Thinking of you now Utopia and I will be thinking about you tomorrow and wishing you all the best

Hold on tight

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia - all the best for the meeting. I doubt any decisions would be made tomorrow anyway - probably people go away and review the facts and then negotiate something. What I have found really helpful in my meetings is to go in with all my paperwork in order and have what I want to say typed out in point form. I've realised that when I start getting upset I can't articulate what I want to say and afterwards am wracked with regret as to why I didn't say such and such or I should have said this or that so just having the paperwork with me is a real benefit. Also take it really slowly - stop and consider everything before you speak even if it's just a yes or no answer. Remember there's no rush and no reason to hurry - stop and take a couple of breaths and consider your responses. It's your meeting, you own it, you control it and it happens at your pace. If you feel like a break, take a break. Today do something just for you - go outside and take a walk or do something to help get your head in a good space. Remember we're behind you 100%... you're the best.

OMG I'm shaking and crying.
@Former-Member @soul @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Zoe7 @ faith-and-hope @outlander @Former-Member @Teej @Kurra @NikNik - just everyone.
I WON!!!!!
My solicitor/lawyer just called me and said "You've won".
"Huh".
He said no conciliation tomorrow. WorkCover (Allianz) have dropped their claim. And will now back pay me my payments from March and continue fortnightly payments and all my medical costs. They just pulled out like that.
I'm so happy I can't stop crying and shaking. Massive adrenaline rush through my body. Think I need to lie down, but am too happy to do that.
Thank you everyone for your support.
WE WON!!!!!!
I think I better ring my psychiatrist and thank him the mist. Think it was his report that did it..

Woo Hoo
WE WON! !!!!!!!!
