HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Well it's almost been 4 weeks since I last left hospital and 5 weeks since my depression left.

Still feel good. No signs of depression or negative self talk. Slight tremble in hands and upset tummy when I eat, but all manageable.

Walked 1.8kms today with dogs. Hope to do the walk every day, or at least every 2nd day. Slowly been weeding the garden beds. They look a lot better. Slowly cleaning the house. I thought it was looking heaps better, but my niece, 7, told me yesterday how messy my house was. Good thing she didn't see it when I was sick.

Still get bored and time moves slowly. Just have to accept it as it is.

So glad that Spring is finally here. Sunshine definitely helps lift my mood.

Re: HOME

Catching up on what's been happening in your world @utopia. Been in hospital again. So sorry it came to that but seems that things have improved with you. Sometimes, well all the time really - we need to look at the bright side - even if there are just small things that we can be thankful about.

Managing your depression is a big plus. Walking the dogs and getting work done in the garden is great. I love this time of year. I still do a lot of walking. I take photos with my phone of things that look pretty - gardens, birds etc. Reminds me that it is a beautiful world.

Boredom, time passing slowly - I get it. Always nice to have something to look forward to. That helps.

You're still the best cockatoo I know. Take care.

Re: HOME

Thanks @Shaz51@BlueBay

Realistically, the chances are high that the depression will return again bb. Just have to try and lead a full life now while I'm depression free.

So went to mums for her Grand Final get together. I normally don't go. But Collingwood was playing, so that was an incentive. Haven't walked the dogs in 5 or 6 days. Hopefully tomorrow.

I've been painting my door frames. And over the next week or so, I hope to have the doors painted too. A nice crisp white. But acrylic - not that super high gloss finish, because I can't get that voc free (volatile organic compound) & that's when the paint smells. Can't handle that.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia. Yeah - paint fumes can be overpowering. I heard somewhere that putting a cut onion in the room helps. Or maybe it just makes the place smell like onion.

I’m sure the dogs would appreciate the walk.

Depression - yeah - it has a habit of returning. Good for you to live in the moment.
