HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

So 9 days ago I get pulled over by the cops. My car is unregistered they tell me. I thought I'd paid Rego. No. It was due back in December.

So today, first available appointment I take the car to get a RWC as I have to. Get there to pick up my car.

FAIL.

Multiple things need fixing. I went home ready to jump into bed and cry. Mum called. I said I don't want to think about it today. She said give our mechanic a call.

So I ring. He's fully booked out - for the next 7 days. If I don't get the car fixed and back to the RWC man in 7 days - I have to pay another $250 for another RWC.

I tell our mechanic this. So I take the car and failed RWC list to him. He gives me a quote. Just under $700 - I have $727 in my account. He will squeeze the work in between other jobs. Thank god. And do it in the next 2 days.

I ring and cancel my appointment with RTA tomorrow to get my car re regitered. I loose that $18.60 fee. Will have to pay it again when I next make a booking and the fee to get a permit to drive the unregistered car to the RTA office.

My sister rings. Trying to be helpful to tell me abiut a relative of a friend who will do my mechanics work cheeper. I tell her my mechanic is doing it cheeply. Costs and 2 hrs labor. I tell her I can't handle this. I've made my decision.

Meanwhile I forgot my son had work tonight. So he had to urgently ring my mum and get her to take him there. He will get a lift home with his mates dad.

I'd already rang my psychiatrist thi morning and told his secretary that my meds aren't working and I'm loosing it. I've got an appointment late Wed. Mum will lend me her car.

And you'd think that because there have been solutions to all these issues that I would be relieved.

No. I'm crying. I've had enough. I really feel like I'm loosing the plot. Things that other people just deal with. A bill. New tyres. Cloudy sky. Anything. They can cope. I can't. And I know these are all petty little shitty inconveniences - but they feel huge and overwhelming to me.

Everything is so f***ing overwhelming.

Everything hurts.

That is a whole lot to deal with @utopia - no wonder you have had enough - I would be in tears myself! These are all things that you didn't expect and when we are not feeling ok they can hit really hard. You are not overreacting at all - these are very real stresses that you are dealing with and ones you definitely did not need - sorry it is happening for you @utopia

Re: HOME

Hugs @utopia thats so stressful. You’re not over reacting. I would be crying as well. Wish there was more I can say. I’m thinking of. Praying that things pick up for you very soon. You deserve to be happy and the best. ❤️❤️

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia

You are not over-reacting - I would be in a stew too - I get over-whelmed when too many things happen at once and there is the financial issue too - we understand - I understand

And we know why you need to be able to manage this - and just taking it in your stride is asking a lot more than with most people so vent away - I get it

You have been battling with so much - it's easy to miss a bill - and cars mean bills and expensive bills too - and you need your car for so much.

I no longer drive - I had to give it up for medical reasons - I really miss it all of these years later - I have to rely on taxis and this can be a movable feast - so I know how difficult things can be without a car

But hell - what a muddle - I hope you are able to get all of this sorted - quickly

btw - yes - have your own mechanic do the work - the relative of a friend can add to your problems - I have been warned against that one - you are getting the work done cheaply by a qualified mechanic - an unqualified person could make it all worse for all the best intentions - people want to help but we are better off going with what we know

Admitting you might lose the plot tells me how hard this is for you - but it seems to me things are happening - I hope they continue to happen in some kind of useful order and wait to see what goes right about all of this

Or not - bl^^dy cars - there's always something

Sending hugs

Re: HOME

I've done it before - forgot to pay my rego. I shouldn't say forgot coz I thought I had paid. Other bills I've paid twice. Not remembering I'd already paid it.

My memory is in lock down.

Am about to take a calming med. Can't sleep

Re: HOME

@utopia I can't get that image of the Vicar of Dibley jumping in the puddle out of my head - making me giggle as I type this lol

Re: HOME

lol @Zoe7. As soon as @margot said puddles I instantly thought of that scene in the Vicar of Dibley. It's the best comedy sketch ever.

Re: HOME

I totally agree @utopia once you have seen that episode you never forget The Vicar jumping into that puddle up to her neck lol - I instantly though of you also because of the times we talked about that show - good times hey

Re: HOME

Very Very good times @Zoe7.

When i see a big puddle now, sometimes I actually put the toe of my gumboot in, just to check that there is a bottom of the puddle. Then I jump, or walk or kick the water up in the air.
