HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

3.58pm (2 hours and 8 minutes late) they call mum in.
No apology for being so late. No explanation.
Strong urge to drink.
But have 3 hour drive home still to do (in peak hour Melbourne traffic).
When I get home I think I will just sleep sleep sleep

Re: HOME

@utopia Wishing you the best. When we have worked in a field we usually know what is unreasonable and bad service. Take care.

This week I had a call from a lady who was very rude and called me "darl" straight off. So I asked what she wanted and found she was the a secretary/receptionist of a doctor with whom I was invited to make an appointment to discuss the very bad service that my son received at their emergency department. She was most concerned to be called a PA not a receptionist ...my eyes roll ..in remembrance. This morning I have another call about this same complant, lets hope it goes better. It was a different worker.

Transparency is important.

Re: HOME

Nurse came out. Appologised to everyone for long delay. Then went and spoke to each individual patient.
Mum got out at 4.28pm.
Now to fight our way through peak hour traffic.

@Appleblossom.
I loath it when someone calls me darl or sweety or love. They have my name in front of them. Use it.

Re: HOME

She had just pressed her phone button and had not even looked at the file ... when I kept being professionally polite and assertive ... she apologised and admitted we had gotten off to a wrong start, her fault, but I was left the feeling that her business was mental health and it was ludicrous for her to insist on being a professional with her basic customer service.

Good luck with the traffic. @utopia

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia

I'm right at home here I think - and thinking of your driving home in Melbourne peak hour traffic - really hard to do peacefully when the mind is stirred up - I feel for you feeling stirred up myself right now

I have just jumped in here without reading all the texts - I feel pressured myself and to change my own subject - ah - discimination against the left-handed was alive and well when my daughter was in kindergarden and Preps - that was in the mid-70's

The kindergarten teacher told me to stop teaching her to write - I was doing it all wrong. I told her I wasn't teaching her anything - she's left-handed and wrote mirror-type like Leonardo Da Vinci - she figured it out herself and I could read it perfectly well in the mirror -

In Preps I had a stand-up and loud argument with her teacher who had an idea that she could be encouraged to use her right hand. Who cares!!!!!! - I didn't - the poor kid thought she had some kind of disability and when she was old enough to understand she was surprised - she has beautiful handwriting and is skillful wrapping parcels and wraps my presents for her husband's grandchildren -

Anyway - Utopia - I think that's today's subject - any kind of discrimination - why do we need to be identical anyway - I love diversity

btw - I was one of the bright kids in the infant school - I was in Grade 2 before I learned anything there - bad luck back in the 40s for kids who were too slow or too bright

I am a bit stirred up today and this was a wonderful chance to vent - ah yes

And my reason for coming on line - I actually got a letter from my ex-psychologist - under the circumstances she is not persuing my fee for non-attendance - actually - getting that letter pushed me to the left a bit - it was bothering me

Okay peeps - who's in this convo - I should read the whole thinf

All the best

Dec

So 'nice'' of her not to persue a payment you legally do not have to make @Owlunar.
I'm about 40 minutes frim home. Stopped to get some potato cakes to eat. Haven't eaten all day.
So tired, both mum and I. Think I will crawl into bed when I finally make it home
