LGBTI folk

Hey, I just wanted to start a thread here in case there are others struggling with all the media crap around this postal survey. Everywhere I go in the community people are finding it really hard so I thought people here must also be.

I am.

Maybe we can just make a space to take care of each other. I feel that we really need to do that right now. This atrocity is going to continue for months.

Re: LGBTI folk

Make sure you reach out for support if you need it, @Queenie. You are NOT a second class citizen. You don’t deserve to be made to feel this way. You deserve support.

Re: LGBTI folk

I tried reading through this thread and found that my last post here (which I don't remember writing) was the same as one two pages back. That might say much to someone who knows what a space cadet I am but i was hoping to do better. I'm always hoping to do better in this thing. I feel like I should be able to straddle the linesb ecause I really do have feet in all the camps but I can't. I'ts just amking me so triggered and afraid.

Not at my best

@-Rayne-, @Former-Member, @outlander @Queenie

This wonderful choir in Ballarat fills the world with love.

The caption reads:

"We made this for you, because through art we can imagine the world not as it is, but as it could be.

A message of love and equality from Ballarat #makelovehappen"

It was uploaded yesterday on *Bryce Ives F. B page. It is a balm to the mind, soul and spirit. Loving people singing about us and our love, hopes, lives.

*Bryce Ives is the Director of the Arts Academy at Ballarat.

It is such a beautiful piece, I know some of you have disconnected or deactivated from the blue and white pages because of all the hate - I just wanted to share some powerful love.

Thank you for posting that @MoonGal. It is something I needed right now.

Re: LGBTI folk

Thanks @MoonGal I needed it too.

I got my survey today but don't even want to open it. I know that's stupid.

Re: LGBTI folk

In the new today which angered me... Tony Abbott wants to 'ban' Macklemore from performing his song "Same Love" at the NRL grand final, despite the NRL being more than agreeable to the song being performed. It was a hit song in Australia a few years ago and was played constantly on mainstream radio. Why then, must a song portraying love is love suddenly get so much of a blacklash? Oh that's right... the plebiscite (enter sarcastic tones here).

Re: LGBTI folk

People should just have their say in the post instead of getting in each others faces. Behaviour on both sides has been questionable.

The sky won't fall in if there is marriage equality and it won't fall in if their isn't marriage equality.

There is too much stigma about a lot of things in this world.

Love is important however...it is universal.

Love your family and Love yourself (as hard as that is sometimes) but you are with yourself all of your lifetime, so loving yourself as opposed to hating yourself is probably the least painful option.

If you do not love or you are incapable of love, you will never be a whole person. However, this should not be mistaken with needing another person to make you feel whole, as none of us come into the world as half a person.

Vote with your hear and your mind.

Re: LGBTI folk

Found this on my rare fb visits on the vote so far

The poll, conducted by Newgate Research, has predicted a clear lead for the Yes vote in almost every age bracket: 65 per cent in the 18 - 34 age group, 55 per cent yes in 35 - 54 year-olds and 54 per cent for the over-55s.

❤❤❤❤❤ i know this hars on everyone
