LGBTI folk

Hey, I just wanted to start a thread here in case there are others struggling with all the media crap around this postal survey. Everywhere I go in the community people are finding it really hard so I thought people here must also be.

I am.

Maybe we can just make a space to take care of each other. I feel that we really need to do that right now. This atrocity is going to continue for months.

@MoonGal but no legal rights for the partner if someone in a same-sex or trans marriage dies

Re: LGBTI folk

A poem that came to me as I awoke this morning. Swinging into hypomania right now, so connective thought patterns and poetry rise to the fore. I am aware of the shift. I said yesterday several times.. "Am I hypo or happy?" and the thought came back "both, yet be wise in that, grab the silver dial and turn yourself down, maintain the spark do not let it become a conflagration. That is a very new thing for me to see that I am hypo (not just happy) and to apply tools and medications to turn myself down a bit while trying to also maintain the gladness and feelings of being right in my own skin.

My gold ring I give.
To encircle our loved life.
Marriage Equality.

My heart I gift.
To strengthen our bonds.
Marriage Equality.

I will hold your hand to the last.
Stroke your brow,
Marriage Equality.

When I speak your eulogy.
May they see, love, only... love.
And the grief the same as theirs.
Marriage Equality.

I wish for all my sisters
I wish for all my brothers
I wish for all my gender fluid kin
I wish all that love.
One another,
Marriage Equality.

LOVE. WILL. WIN.

Hi @MoonGal.

Well...great things certainly spring from your hypo activity that's for sure. Great work @MoonGal.
Love ALWAYS wins in the end because Love is eternal like everything else in the universe. 😀

Today I noticed rainbows starting to appear. Shops have poster in their windows. One says "this small business is big enough to support marriage equality". There's another one too. And I saw two large institutions have replaced one of their usual flags with rainbow flags.

It felt good.

Hi all,

I just want see the other side remember what the postal vote is actually about. It is about whether you think gays and lesbians should be able to commit to their partners the same way that heterosexuals can.
THAT IS ALL IT IS A VOTE ON. It's not a vote for or against political correctness. It's not a vote for or against the beliefs of any church. It's not a vote for yes or no on procreation, parenting skills or anything else. The plebiscite vote is a simple yes or no vote by the public for marriage equality.
I'm already over hearing a campaign by the no side on everything other than same sex marriage.
A vote for yes is a vote for equal ability for same sex couples to be able to commit to marriage. It's not a vote about anything else. 💁🏻

Re: LGBTI folk

You know i think what might happen is...the yes side might become complacent.

These surveys will just get left lying around on kitchen benches and coffee tables and not get sent back with a Yes vote in time. In this day and age where everything is electronic, it might just be too much of a hassle to physically mail a letter for very busy people.

This could mean that "yes" voters forget to have their say.

Some young voters have done everything electronically and might not even know where a post box is to even post a letter.

I hope this isn't the case.

It will be interesting to see how it turns out anyway.

I deleted facebook from my phone today. My TV is already broken so I'm now in a luxurious black hole. I want to be a good advocate and all of that but I really can't deal with it.
