365 Project

365 Project

I recently read about the 365 Project that was started by someone who was having difficulty with depression I think.. she took a photo everyday for a year of something that she was grateful for/enjoyed etc

I was wondering if we could do something like that on here, share a picture/ describe something... about something that we are grateful for each day with a little comment.. for instance

We had a great pre breakfast time building a tree house for the elephant complete with a water hole and pool! So grateful for fun times!

Mods... would this be ok?!?

For a long time my son was not at all touch feely ..By the way I didnt get a hug .. I was permitted to hug him which is a huge win .. and I just keep it playful and cheeky, not to soppy. I see this as a new phase and a maturation. I believe males and females should be free to express affection. It pays forward generally ... ie the girlfriend gets it and thats the way it should be.

During my marriage my girls were were discouraged from expressions of affections ... but I had worked so hard to keep things affectionate for husband ... hhmmm... physical, playful and not cold, formal and disconnected as my childhood was.

When I lost my daughters I would go to church and watch the other mothers with their girls at all ages and reflect.

Hi @Appleblossom,

it sounds like your son has turned a corner, i hope he continues on his positive path, i understand how hard it must be for you to show affection i grew up with the same formality and disconnection, i find it incredably hard to show any affection, when someone tries to hug me i freeze and clam up, it is just so alien to me to have any affection shown.

you should not be so hard on yourself, i am sure every parent has some regrets with their children, it is part of our human nature to strive for and give more.

i often see families that are very close and wish i had the same, sometimes i feel so alone.

Hi @Former-Member,

I planted 5 new plants today, yes i agree their is something to look forward to in the future, seeing them grow, looking after them, one is almost a parent to the plant, lol.

i hope you manage to get some fruit off it. i have close to 30 trees and shrubs in my yard and not 1 fruit tree!!!!! hhmmmmm, maybe i should plant things i can eat

Mamma mia ... you are uptodate with laundry even when you have a cold.

I popped in to visit a lovely old friend and she was pruning her roses so we chatted in the garden and then had a cuppa and nutloaf.

It might seem strange, but today I'm thankful that I've almost finished my first assessment for the semester - and as a bonus, it's a whole month early! 🙂
