Really wobbly

Really wobbly

Any advice and suggestions about how to stay grounded and do self care much appreciated. I have some big stressors in my life right now. That combined with Bipolar 1 and Anxiety is really knocking me around. Trying to sell home as result of marriage breakdown, pay debts, find new home. My daughter (who is my main support) is leaving home (can't blame her). I have a young son to look after and I'm trying to protect him from the strain of the situation. All this is coming off the back of a mixed episode, which has recently been replaced by plumetting mood and skyrocketing anxiety. I am teary and on the verge of panic and need to talk myself down - there's noone else to do it. The future is scaring me.

Re: Really wobbly

Now I'm pretty sure noone here subscribed to the '2020 is done and dusted all my troubles are over' thing, but I have to confess I did breathe a brief sigh of relief, and was hoping for better this year. It's been a pretty hard start to my year on balance. Partly, I think there is a personal and collective exhaustion that has knocked my resillience out for the count. I don't really know how to rebuild it from such an depleted position. I am trying to focus on whatever goes right. Just wanted to say hi everyone, and hope that there's some light for you amongst any the heavy vibes.

Hey @frog

2020 was truly terrible in many ways ... globally ... no argument.

Hope for the coming year comes with the responsibility of being realistic so I dont see any reason to apologise for the heavy tone.

My son has referred me to long form podcasts. Cos I do have the time and I want to know the things that he values. I am looking at a bit of the intellectual dark web... I am finding it fairly ethical and interesting ...people are cautious ....

try not extinguish a small sense of hope ... find your way of working with feelings

Cheers Apple

Re: Really wobbly

Hi there @frog I know things have tough for you but I really admire your strength, perseverance and resilience that you have shown not only me but the whole Sane forum community over the year.

2020 was basically a write off with the whole coronavirus thing and being locked down several times in Melbourne. I can't believe I had to line up to go shopping for food at 6am and show my healthcare card to gain entry to the supermarket for early shopping. People arguing over toilet paper was ridiculous considering the virus doesn't give you diarrhoea and the whole curfew thing in Melbourne was hard yet funny as I don't know of any virus that knows how to tell time!
I learnt that I could shop online and I really enjoyed not going to the shopping centres as I don't see the enjoyment in shopping or even window shopping anymore. It's weird. I did miss not going to the library to relax or just read bir study despite studying uni online at my sisters house during the 2nd lockdown. That did help get me through some of the troubles of lockdown as it gave me a focus point away from the news of the virus.
Seeing the bushfires at the start of the year on TV was scary especially the red skies at Mallacoota and having the navy help out was really bad. I can't believe people are still dealing with that on top of the virus.

Thanks for tagging me in your post! Please keep tagging me.

Take care and keep continuing to hop along!
