Really wobbly

Really wobbly

Any advice and suggestions about how to stay grounded and do self care much appreciated. I have some big stressors in my life right now. That combined with Bipolar 1 and Anxiety is really knocking me around. Trying to sell home as result of marriage breakdown, pay debts, find new home. My daughter (who is my main support) is leaving home (can't blame her). I have a young son to look after and I'm trying to protect him from the strain of the situation. All this is coming off the back of a mixed episode, which has recently been replaced by plumetting mood and skyrocketing anxiety. I am teary and on the verge of panic and need to talk myself down - there's noone else to do it. The future is scaring me.

@frog

Hugs to you.

Is there any hope setting boundaries with your boisterous teen. Is throwing energy around the problem, or lack of motivation??

Cheers Apple

Oh gosh @Appleblossom both issues! Teen has anger, misdirected at me. Off to martial arts in a minute, and that helps. Lacking motivation in most areas but hanging in there with school to my enormous relief. My psych says I need to disrupt teen's substantial efforts to control the situation at home, largely by staying calm, and leaving when we get into a repetitive loop.

Re: Really wobbly

Good advice @frog Do your best and detach and dont take it personally, while setting personal boundaries. Harder and more complicated than young kids out of uni who are not parenting this age group, could ever understand.

I took the calm and leave approach. Edited.
