Really wobbly

Really wobbly

Any advice and suggestions about how to stay grounded and do self care much appreciated. I have some big stressors in my life right now. That combined with Bipolar 1 and Anxiety is really knocking me around. Trying to sell home as result of marriage breakdown, pay debts, find new home. My daughter (who is my main support) is leaving home (can't blame her). I have a young son to look after and I'm trying to protect him from the strain of the situation. All this is coming off the back of a mixed episode, which has recently been replaced by plumetting mood and skyrocketing anxiety. I am teary and on the verge of panic and need to talk myself down - there's noone else to do it. The future is scaring me.

Re: Really wobbly

Some good points @Former-Member

Some days I find having a list motivating, and other days it can be overwhelming. I sometimes wonder if lists are an attempt to control the uncontrolable. Today it worked ok for me. The best thing was going to a cafe with my daughter, but another important one is coming up - get some sleep!

I hope you got a bit of study done and enjoyed the rest of the day. Reading, painting, yoga, cooking, music and sleep all sound really positive to me.

@frog Glad to hear from you.

I agree with you re the variable advisabiulity of lists. Sometimes they are essential, great or just meh ... tho overall. I am a listy type of gal.

and @Former-Member had a point tho. How many is often a moot point!

She (you) made me laugh, with your tone and your excel spreadsheets. Love it ...

I am really wobbly a lot of the time. but I try and stay in the lines and only go out of them sometimes ...

Cheers

Wonderful to hear (read) your positivity and reaching for, not just aiming, but actively working toward what works for you. @frog If it all gets done then great, if not, you made an effort and that's to be commended. Either way, the endeavour is commendable.

Like @Former-Member, when at uni I had every minute of every day and night timetabled so things (including time out/ sleep/ relaxation) were done - as a single parent with 3 school kids, attending full time at uni was an undertaking of serious effort, to be sure.

I still use lists to remind me of things I want to achieve, or to remind me of something needing to be done, but nothing in the way of what I used to use.

@frog So lovely to read your writings, so lovely to be included, thank you. Yes, indeed, we are survivors!

Re: Really wobbly

I guess it's cyclical. I'm going ok, then suddenly I'm not. Work has been stressful and the effort of holding it together makes me physically sick. There is so much tension in my body that I get bad headaches. The older I get the more insight I have, but at the same time the deep tiredness is grows. I want to stay home today and regather but more work will be waiting for me when I get back. Also it looks really bad on a Friday

@frog getting up and out in the mornings is hard. I have to hand it to you, as I am a night owl.
