Really wobbly

Really wobbly

Any advice and suggestions about how to stay grounded and do self care much appreciated. I have some big stressors in my life right now. That combined with Bipolar 1 and Anxiety is really knocking me around. Trying to sell home as result of marriage breakdown, pay debts, find new home. My daughter (who is my main support) is leaving home (can't blame her). I have a young son to look after and I'm trying to protect him from the strain of the situation. All this is coming off the back of a mixed episode, which has recently been replaced by plumetting mood and skyrocketing anxiety. I am teary and on the verge of panic and need to talk myself down - there's noone else to do it. The future is scaring me.

Back at you @CheerBear My state of wobblyness is highly variable these days. I had a draining but very good session with my psychologist on Friday and it helped me a lot. I'd love to see him more often, but aI try and spread my 10 sessions over the year and am grateful that I found such a good one. I hope your day has love, joy and peace my friend.

Re: Really wobbly

Very much understand the variable nature of wobblyness @frog 💗 Great to hear you had a good session on Friday and that it helped. It's so great when it goes that way, especially when you really need it to. Like you, I try to spread out my 10 sessions across the year also. Also like you I'd like to see my psych more too (how is ten enough?!) but I'm grateful for what I can get there ☺

Always nice to bump into you frog and glad you could get back on to the forum (I think there are a few forum bugs happening atm).

Quick drop in to say HI @frog I don't seem to be able to catch up with all my doings and the forum today ... lagging way behind. So pleased to make you smile

Eat, drink water, look at the horizon for a different perspective and relax as often as you can. (I should take my own advice today )

Re: Really wobbly

On the struggle bus lately I see my psychiatrist this afternoon. It feels like nothing improves, just the same stuff over and over. There are limits to what treatment, of whatever kind, can do. I still can't let go of the 'getting better' idea, otherwise, why keep going? At the same time it's a recipe for disappointment. Just feeling really down and somewhat hopeless. Maybe the day will improve from here.

Re: Really wobbly

Morning @frog. Really with you with the idea of how disappointing it can be to try and try but not see the improvement we want, yet also needing to hold on and believe things can and will get better. Struggle bus is hard

Hoping there are moments that feel good in your day.

Re: Really wobbly

Good morning, @frog. Glad to see you around too this early time of day (just after 6am here). I always feel you achieve a lot, especially with MI. But I agree that feeling like everything is just staying the same all the time is not a great feeling. I find that, even if improvements are very small, that feeling of forward motion carries me on. At the same time, I have to recognise that things don't improve that much for me in a hurry either. Accepting our illness is a hard part of the process but maybe helps as much as we can do it. Hugs and hope you feel better over the day. ox
