Really wobbly

Really wobbly

Any advice and suggestions about how to stay grounded and do self care much appreciated. I have some big stressors in my life right now. That combined with Bipolar 1 and Anxiety is really knocking me around. Trying to sell home as result of marriage breakdown, pay debts, find new home. My daughter (who is my main support) is leaving home (can't blame her). I have a young son to look after and I'm trying to protect him from the strain of the situation. All this is coming off the back of a mixed episode, which has recently been replaced by plumetting mood and skyrocketing anxiety. I am teary and on the verge of panic and need to talk myself down - there's noone else to do it. The future is scaring me.

Re: Really wobbly

Hey @frog - stumbled across your story and it really hit a nerve having my Mum pass away last year. I didn't have family support from the siblings who live in the same city not even when we were by my mother's side as she drew her last breath and certainly not since.

Wishing you strength as you go through this experience - an inevitable outcome but never easy just the same.

Re: Really wobbly

Thanks @Mazarita @soul @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Appleblossom @outlander and other friends for checking in. (Sorry for forgetting anyone - somewhat scrambled at the minute) I'm back home. My mother is now breathing on her own, but kidneys and heart are very bad. Not sure what's going to happen next; still in ICU. I felt bad leaving my poor brother to deal with everything but had to get back to kids and work.

It was good to see my sister, and she flew out today and will soon be having her surgery.

There was even more extended family bad news waiting for me when I got there but I am trying to put some psychological distance between all the trouble and myself for a while.

I'm really drained and haven't had good sleep. Took sleeper not long ago and starting to feel the effects. If I start talking gibberish, or stop talking all together you'll know why

How are you travelling? I feel like I've been away for ages, I guess because so much is happening.

Good to hear from you, @frog. It's great that you made the trip. I hope you can relax a bit at home now. Glad to hear it was good seeing your sister. May her surgery be fully effective and recovery fast. Sending kindest wishes to you and your family.

Hi @frog - well done on going and getting through the trip. Im glad that it was good to see your sister, though can imagine how hard it all was too. I hope you were able to have a good sleep and restful day. Take care of you through it all..

Re: Really wobbly

Hi @frog.

I'm glad you were able to take the trip and get safely back home. It is such a stressful time, when a parent is gravely ill.

I am back home, too, after seeing my Dad. I have to make the decision whether to go again to Dad's side or not. I believe I will go, but I wonder if it will not be too late, when I arrive.

I'm glad to read that you Mum is able to breathe on her own now. That is something. XXX
