How to talk to a GP or other mental health professional about self-harm
I'm not coping with work or life or anything. had to see my gp for a sick certificate and he called my psychiatrist to see me. she's upped some of my meds which is sh#tting me off.
I'm gonna see my gp again tomorrow, I need another certificate and apparently some blood tests.
Can I ask a question??
I swear I am not at immediate risk. I know the phone numbers to call and so forth.
How do I tell my psych/gp/pdoc anyone that I think about suicide??? It scares shit out me that I have a plan.

Thank you all for listening to me moaning.
He said maybe if I write down everthing I'm thinking, then I can just give it to her. I figure that's better than nothing...
Up at the farm tomorrow, we're clipping the cattle ready in preparation for the show. First show is on the 29th, then Royal the week after.

Clipping the cattle will be fun! Can't believe its nearly show time already!
Have to disagree with the 'moaning'! It's not moaning, its sharing a small part of the load that you're carrying... and something that everyone here can understand just how heavy the load can be... so feel free to put the load down a little bit by chatting about it here, and like Karen said too, sometimes this is the best place to be 'heard' in some ways.
I hope the farm also gives you some fun and peace tomorrow,
LJ

Hi @Crazy_Bug_Lady
How did the clipping go today? Hope your animals behaved for you 😄 I remember one heifer we had to get sedated because she was crazy (a hereford) and she ended up falling asleep and kept sitting down DOH!
Did they get a wash first or leavnig that for show days?
Hope today felt a bit better and you were able to have some fun,
LJ

Hey LJ,
Clipping went well, all 10 animals are mostly clipped. They will need a little more on show day, but that's cool.
Everyone went really well with the clipping, they didn't really move. My steer was a complete darling, he wouldn't let me clip his brisket (underside of the neck) unless he had his head on my shoulder. Really wish he wasn't such a sweetie, makes it hard for him to go. 😡
Yeah, we have to wash them first so they're all clean for the clippers.
I pretty much did the full clip job on one of our bulls, he gets quite nervy around men, and doesn't like the clipping chute. At least this way if he can't be clipped at the show he'll look passable.
Clipping is where I start to get a bit excited/nervous. It's nearly showtime!!

oh yes!! it does make it hard to let them go when they are so sooky! But i always tried to remember that of all the animals going on the truck, mine had such a great, loved and special life...
Way to go on the clipping!
How are you holding up today? When do you see your p/doc next?

Re: How to talk to a GP or other mental health professional about self-harm
That's exactly right LJ. My steer is quite a darling to everyone, and is much loved. My friend's steer is quite a jerk (he has a bad habit of charging people for no reason, which unfortunately tends to be his handler, while she is trying to lead him), but we still like him.
I feel kinda silly about the clipping. The owner said I did a great job. I have so much trouble accepting praise... Part of me feels I don't deserve it, part waits for the catch (some form of punishment), part of me is obsessed with it (I got praise!). It's all odd I know, and I obviously need to work on my automatic thoughts surrounding this sort of thing...
Work was okay. They've changed my duties again (as a result of an argument and two meetings last week). I am no longer working in one of the rooms, and now I am to help one of my workmates instead, as I "need to prove I can follow instructions". Which is completely frustrating as it feels like a step down. But in the up-side, the person I'm helping is a friend, and it is all stuff I used to have, so it's nice and familiar. I'm trying to find the positives... not sure how long I'll last.
Got an appointment with my p/doc next Tuesday. I'm gonna try and write a list of things to show her, that I never have the nerve to say. So thoughts and urges, and how to deal with them. And I won't see till after Royal, so I need to work a plan for that. I think (hope) I'll be fine, but she seems quite concerned about it...
And looking at what I've written, I think the change in meds have kicked in...
For the umteenth time, thank you all for listening and caring. I do find it nice to have such lovely caring people looking out for me. ❤️❤️
