Re: not coping

@Bunniekins do you find its worth it? the one im looking at is 50 a fortnight cause itll cover all my conditions but im not sure how much id use it?

Do you think if im sick now but not diagnosed with anything they would class it as a pre-existing condition?

Re: not coping

A bit better then yesterday is good but still not great @outlander as yesterday was incredibly stressful and distressing for you. I really hope things start improving a lot more soon.

Chatting with the insurance people sounds like a good idea...I have no clue about that sort of thing. Hopefully some of the others will...

Can't afford it. Medical history and family medical history makes me almost uninsurable😞 andnthe ones that will want me to sell a kidney just to pay them.

Re: not coping

Good luck getting the info you need @outlander , and with the rest of your day. 🙂

Re: not coping

@outlander for someone as young as you I dont think it is worth it personally. It isnt a preexisting condition until it is diagnosed (dont quote me on it though). Hang on to your money is my advice until you are older.when you need hospital etc.

Re: not coping

ive just spoken to one of the health funds and because I have symptoms within 6 months of getting insurance it would be classes as a medical condition whether its diagnosed or not. they also go off symptoms. so I would have a 12 month wait time. @Bunniekins

I was more just thinking because I have various health issues whether it might make it abit cheaper in the longer term. im not sure if I want to pay $50 a fortnight though for something I probably wouldn't use much except for extras like chiro, physio etc (which is what im insured for now)

I was hoping I might not have classed for having a pre exisiting condition so if I needed a gastroscopy I could get it in 2 months time but it would only have to pay the difference. so that stuffed me up then hey!

Re: not coping

Also @outlander just be careful with hospital cover because it doesn't cover things like anesthesiologists and actual doctor fees it more just your hospital stay. But your health care provider should be able to give you all the info you need. I have health insurance but only because my boys have medical conditions that have needed hospital stays. I hope that helps a little @outlander

Re: not coping

thanks @Lee82
the one im looking at covers the all the hospital fees, private rooms, private accommodation if I need to stay nearby for a day or 2 etc which is why I was drawn to it but if I have to wait a yr to even be able to use not sure if its worth if, more just a financial strain atm.

Re: not coping

That makes sense but I think with hospital cover again depending on what type you are looking at getting the wait times vary..3 months or 6 months or 12 months and in some cases no wait period.
@outlander that only for hospital stay...everything else may have longer waiting periods.
