Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

@eudemonism yes..all's well for mom. She lost dad at the age of 37, diagnosed the year after and now she is 72. The jabs used to be once a month those days. Then gradually its decreased to once in 3 months, now biannually. About the religion...its the 2nd top religion of the world, with 1.6 billion follower.

".....I think i need confirmation and assurance. That absence from substances and sobriety from alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes can be done and will lead to a better life for myself......"

I can assure u @eudemonism it is possible cuz its forbidden in my faith and its upholded by 1.6 billion people around the world. You might see people slipping from teachings of their faith but i feel thats not a way to misjudge the whole concept of a religion but instead is a personal attitude and practise..towards abiding by the rules and teachings of ones faith.

There's a famous story about a man captured and asked to choose either to murder a child, sleep with his mom or drink. Thinking of taking liqour as the least crime and not involving another innocent soul..he took the liqour but ended up committing all 3 crimes.

Think about it...

What religion is it @Adek ? Im just sitting on the couch i got from the opshop at the moment. And watching the midday movie. Its based on the civil war i think. And what nationality are your parents or grand parents from?

This afternoon im thinking if i sweep or vacuume and take the dog for a walk I will be doing pretty well. Cook myself something nice for tea and call it a day after that. Ive had a few bothersome thoughts today. But not a great deal can be done about them. So no point in worrying myself about them.

Yea...that sounds like a nice me-day. Am not going anywhere as well today. Made oreo cheesecake and just had ramen with kimchi for lunch...and now sitting on the rocking chair, just about to watch youtube documentary when i noticed your latest post. You seem to have a lot if questions going on in there. Are they for me? @eudemonism 🤔🤗. My grandparents, parents and me are of the same nationality, being the major official ethnic & religion of the country.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Former-Memberhow are you getting on? I hope you have a great weekend. A director of a mental institution once said in a 'Journey to Recovery' forum that i attended ..

" Life is a cycle..nothing in life is forever. If it rains eventually it will stop. After winter will come spring. We were once children but now we are old. We may be sick but at times we are better. We worry but later will be relieved.."

I have learnt from that..to let go of my children bit by bit...praying and asking for guidance on their behalf from God...and not being too hard on my maternal instinct. My mom in law used to say...."Need you be too tough on them? Weren't you at their age before? Have you not been tested? But did you come through it all? Do you have lessons learned?...".

Then only it struck me that i had to be on my own since 12! I believe... we have so much concern and being protective due to our past experiences. But perhaps it is time to let go. The kids are adults now and its time they face their own challenges. We are only here to guide them..more like a friend than a parent, and pray for their wellbeing. xx.

Oh.. ya i forgot how high life expenses there..though not as high as in London/US. Here..with 8 Aussie dollar i get 10GB/mth. Maybe if u get to use wifi during your hospital visits u can watch it. I watched just now...a really good British speaker who elaborated on all the things u mentioned here..drug, alcohol, sex (out of marriage) and music and how it affected our lives. Wished i can summarize for you but pls pardon me am not good in writing delicate issues like this..

@eudemonism..
"Did We not expand for you your breast?
And We removed from you your burden
Which had weighed upon your back.
And raised high for you your repute.
For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].
And to your Lord direct [your] longing..."
