Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Yea that's it aye @Zoe7 may be they don't wanna be helped, may be they don't need help, may be I've got to drop them, and walk away... -i've been reaching out to the same old people for help and support for that long, I feel i have outgrown them, and have found that they're just unloading rubbish onto me. -I've found that I've become unhappy with how it works; I've started thinking, i deserve better. -I've found that I've done everything i can, to try and please them, (I've done everything i can to make things right from my end of the deal) and I've come to the conclusion; they're suffering from their own sicknesses, which they keep at bay, through unhealthy practises, or by focusing on my problems... I've found that, in their facade of appearing to be in a position of offering help / being able to help / thinking they know it all / offering false hope... they've actually been getting myself to help them... (being an energy vamp) -I've been sensing that it's wrong and an injustice.. and I've been sensing it for a very long time..

Sometimes we just outgrow people or situations @eudemonism Not every relationship we have in our lives lasts. We sometimes have people that come into our lives for reasons that are necessary for that time and for that situation and then leave when (for want of a better phrase) they serve their purpose - and sometimes they leave (or we do) because they have not been able to fill that gap. The biggest trick in life is to know when people are no longer helping us - whether that be in a personal or professional sense - and it is okay to cut ties with those people if you feel the relationship is no longer helpful to you.

A perfect example is the relationship I had with my psychologist - it came to a point that the sessions were doing me more harm than good - that didn't mean I no longer trusted her but more that what she was offering in the way of counselling was counter-productive to me getting to a place where I could begin to move forward . Now I am considering going back to her because I am in a better place to deal with it all. That does not mean that that type of therapy would benefit me but we would have to come to an arrangement on what tye of therapy was being undertaken. The reason that I do want to go back to her though is that I do trust her and that is huge for me.

There's no simple answers in life @Sophia1 unless your getting someone else to do all the hard work.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Zoe7 yea, it's all about the quality of relationships one has to rely on, i suppose.
What i really dislike, is people who think and act like they got it all together. It's very discouraging, it takes the focus off of empowering the individual, and totally undermines the individuals own ability and insight, surrounding their own views and beliefs, about how to resolve the matters, which the relationship is based around.

I'm feeling very messed up again. Waking up with sore eyes and feeling jittery. Hitting the caffeine and nicotine straight away. Withdrawing from the depot. Sick and tired of it.

Hi @eudemonism sorry that you are having such a bad start to today - I hope it improves for you. I am off to the pool today and hoping it helps me feel less flat than I presently am.

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

Hello @eudemonism

That is not a pleasant way to wake up..

If they are symptoms that you have experienced before withdrawing from the depot..how do you normally manage them?

gently bathing your eyes in not too cold water can sometimes help with sore eyes...also laying down with wet flannel covering your eyes for about 5 minutes...if you can focus on your breathing...slow it down...breathe in slow breaths breathe out longer breaths...

the jitters are a symptom that others describe...I know @Bunniekins is having issues with her hand trembling..

I know that you like your coffee and cigarettes..

both do increase agitation or shaking...so difficult ..

does talking to someone on a helpline help at this time...sometimes they have suggestions just re breathing that can help..

I know that when I have been overwhelmed I have not even thought of my breathing..

sometimes distracting ourselves can help without us realising...sometimes it does not..

I sincerely hope that these symptoms ease during the day..
