Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

I went to the doctors. Got him to fill ndis paperwork out. Basically the same old story... I'm going to work with him for awhile... but if nothing changes, it's just going to be the same old frustrating story...

Even if i work with a doctor for an extended period of time. It's the same old story. It's the same old system. It's the same end result. It's the same health professional expectations-which i can't live up to because of depot side effects.

What do you want out of these appointments @eudemonism? I think it is good to have an idea of what we want before we go in.

@Zoe7 this time it was to fill out the forms...

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

So you had your requirements achieved this time @eudemonism Maybe look at each appointment you have separately and go in with what you really want to get out of them, Then if that is achieved each time your expectations are met. Don't look past what you need each time otherwise you will get even more disillusioned with it all.

Hello @eudemonism

Thank you for tagging me..

Your going to the doctors despite feeling such strong symptoms was a very strong move to take...I remember that we have spoken about this several times over the months...as you have not been happy with outcomes in the past..

Sometimes it takes more than one visit to get your message across..

these days appointments with gps are usually so brief...

I think that you said previously that he or she wants to see you again which is a very good start...

yes write down your symptoms as you feel them..

keeping a daily record of your actual physical symptoms...between now and your next appointment would be very helpful for the gp....some gps are better at reading than talking....

In the meantime hoping that you can achieve some relief...a break of some sort from your symptoms

take care

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

@Sophia1 i expected more from my doctor... i expected him to realise, acknowledge and accept all the groundwork I've put into my life, over the last ten years, but all i got was, placing everything back on myself. -WHEN TRUTH BE KNOWN. I've already done everything i need to do... and it's thanks to nobody except myself...

hello @Former-Member

hoping that you are feeling more settled..as much as you can be..

music is good for the soul....whoever came up with that statement knew what they were talking about...

listening to music on my own has helped me more times than I can count...

@eudemonism

feeling not listened to is awful....feeling dismissed is even worse...

I make sure that I am heard these days...in an assertive polite manner...

I always take notes to gp as I know that the time allowed is so limited and it can feel like they have not heard one thing that you have said...

even handing the notes that you have made helps to...

Keep on pushing for your rights....you are going through a bad period now as well ...

take care

Re: Sharing the wisdom within

How do you know I'm going through a bad period? @Sophia1 ???
Yea the mental health system in general is very problematic... i think with doctors, like every other ordinary person, they like to be the one's, who are winning when it comes to the general social dynamics of the relationship; example, the inferior vs superior... the weak vs the strong... the one needing help and the helper...
