Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@Former-Member i totally agree with you on that interpersonal skill vs mental illness. I believe that interpersonal skill is a learned ability which we lacked while growing up basically...in my case due to being orphaned and mom and siblings also being bipolar which contributed to the whole picture. Sitting with the scholars..academician.. philosophers apart from our normal psychiatrists and psychotherapists actually added more colours to our way of thinking and looking into life ventures from different angles.

@Appleblossom..perhaps u got me wrong on that Alumni thing. I actually avoided my ex-colleagus groups cuz they only knew the old "me" before my bipolar diagnosis 17 yrs ago....not the post diagnosis me. What i meant by scholars were academician, motivators, philosophers and even preachers who give talks in seminars and forums etc. And yes...am being selective and only attend the free or fully sponsored functions. These...needs a lot of sourcing online and when you get a hang of their schedules...you can easily fit in their routines and get free invitations as well.

And of course...this is what i meant by "Touch & Go...and not linger" the other day. Connects via hearts and minds..no strings tied..not much on physical or verbal contacts but in abundance of mind stimulating insights. It works for me..and keeping my sentiments in positive aura as much as possible..

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Thanks @AdekI will look at those other events. It has taken 20 years (must have been busy) for me to get around to attending my first alumni event. Too long ago for any one to know me, not that I had time to hang with students much as I was a mum at the time and on strict time management.

Those other events would be open to everyone. which is great. I think we do need brain food. It helps to be able to choose rather than be for ced to listen to things we dont believe.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hi everyone @Former-Member @Adek @Appleblossom @Vanessa5 it's a very mental based ordeal for me. Like it is with all who have mental health issues i suppose. And it's the most incredibly frustrating feeling to be stuck with the merry go round and fish bowl effect. With literally no avenues of genuine help, care and support which elevates, eliminates or reduces the impact of the mental problems a person is going through. A very daunting task for anyone to undertake.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Even with all these supports in place. Ie. Doctors. Nurses. Support workers. Psychiatrists. Psychologists. Crisis lines. And facilitated mental illness social groups. (Which is kind of like being incarcerated and institutionalized!) The basic mental problems still remain the same. And nothing really changes. It all comes down to myself... they never fix or solve the problems. In turn keeping the patient trapped on the merry go round. And in the fish bowl effect. Essentially driving the human mad. And they all take home nice incomes from another person's problems, vulnerabilities and weaknesses. And their day to day lives are based around this scenario.

What a joke? And their main weapon against the ordeal is medication! Which disables the person all on it's own...... what a system?

Re: Coming to terms with reality

The most amazing look i have seen on anyones face! Is a mental health system worker... when they realized their patient had recovered and was feeling happy, healthy and contented. I truly though. She is a spiteful and sinister lady. And she screwed me over after that. Big time! The same goes for all of them they attend work each day expected to be faced with another humans suffering. Which they think they have the answers too.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Suicide gonna solve all my problems. And i prefer that option. Over being property of the state for the rest of my life. Maybe 20-30-40 years.
