Coming to terms with reality

Coming to terms with reality

Hi Readers, i am suffering from "mental health issues" and it is an ongoing, daily battle. I am pretty much constantly wrestling with the thoughts going on in my mind. And my psychical life seems too be suffering for it. (There is a huge difference between physical and mental ) something is definitely not right! So each day I'm waking up and going about my routine. And over the last few days, weeks and months. I have been noticing changes in my mentality toward myself, others and life. And some questions such as, what is my life about? And what should my objectives be? Have arisen... of course like we all are, I'm subject too making decisions... and there has been the same options in front of me time and time again for months on end. And it becomes rather draining and mundane. And i feel myself going around in circles like something simple just ain't connecting.

I enjoy writing, art, music. And peace of mind... walking, reading, meditation. Taking care of myself. Socialising. Etcetera. Getting ahead, getting in front. Planning, dreaming and so on. And do my best to look after myself. While accepting that it can only ever be so much.

But there just something not quite right. And I'm suffering for it on a daily basis. And I'm tired and fed up with going through the same stuff everyday. And in all honesty. Alot of my suffering comes from prospective and thought processes.

Does anyone wanna talk with me about some things that might help? In particular dealing with people no matter who they are. Can be very stressful and cause lots of procrastinating about pros and cons. In particularly people who i think about reaching out to for support. Because of dilemmas dramas and social dynamics. And picking up on things that "aint really happening" "gut feelings type of stuff " "intuition" that type of thing. And enjoying time with people is great! I just tend to be overly preoccupied with symptoms to be worried about socialising sometimes "Symptoms which involves others"

All sounds very good @Sophia1 😀 sorry couldn’t reply earlier 😸

hello @TAB

no need for an apology...you have replied now...when the time was best for you..

I read on one of the other threads that a lady had taken an interest in your fnding work and was putting your name forward for a job..

life can work that way...as the saying goes..."not necessarily not what you know...who you know"..

how is your back these days? are you still suffering with chronic pain?

did you end up moving?

Sophia

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Hi @Sophia1 yes re who you know. It tool me decades to realise that of course people employ people they like/know/get on with. I used to think it was all about skills/job knowledge. Oh and not getting the ‘hump’ and taking days off and leaving jobs.
Yes, back hadn’t been bothering me , but now it is. I don’t look after myself. That doesn’t help. No, I haven’t moved. But its getting closer to the ‘front of my mind’. Am schocked I haven’t been able to save more despite recent spate of work. Eg I paid a lump
sum off credit card, then reduced limit afterwards, so in a way seem worse off now if that makes sense. Guess it’s working towards longer term ‘fixes’ tho as opposed to thinking I am not that badly off.
Sorry for going on. Yes, it was an act of kindness/nice gesture re person trying to help me. maybe they were just being friendly. Sorry I haven’t seen you that much on here so I don’t know you situation. But thanks for asking and thanks for listening 😀 Nice.

Re: Coming to terms with reality

@TAB

The nature of jobs these days makes financial planning far more difficult...

yes I agree with you about the employment situation..

so many positions are casual or short contracts..

fingers crossed for you that the lady will put forward your name and lead to some employment..

paying off your credit card and reducting the limit is a great start to taking control of your own finances...not easy to do when money is not coming in regularly...being aware of this is a credit to yourself...

I am not sure where you are....I know that some decent people will help out if you initially do some volunteer work as well..or pay you with food...lodgings....I am quite sure that you know all of this already and don't need me harping on..

You have support here...as you know...those of us who have been here a while are very grateful for these forums...

Take care @TAB

Re: Coming to terms with reality

Thanks for your considered reply @ Sophia1 😀 um yes. Re work, it could be a day or a few days as opposed to months even several years ago. I am getting by. And sometimes wonder how I’m going to pay bills. But I do.
And yes re volunteering etc if it comes to that, but have had a house to myself for over a year now. There just needs to be more up my sleeve to cover gaps in work or when I can’t work. I do lead a pretty wasteful life tho. Boom and bust. When moneys there it evaporates seemingly etc etc
Thanks again for listening

Re: Coming to terms with reality

sorry @TAB

head not been in the place it should be laugh... to acknowledge responses..

also time factor sitting at computer cannot be very long..

a whole house to yourself....boarders...others to share the rent? you have probably been down this track already...

looking at our lifestyle...finances...accommodation is a heavy call...

depression goes hand in hand with chronic pain in back....

I did read that you had mastered that situation for awhile..hoping that it all settles soon and life can become less of a struggle for you...
