Hi @outlander (from earlier tonight) .... no art again yet, but I bought some wool for crocheting a blanket today .... not up to something as amazing as @CheerBear’s work ..... aiming for comfort crocheting in a style I have been doing since primary school.

Am thinking about painting though, and I have visited a gallery and an exhibition.

you really are an alrounder arent you @Faith-and-Hope is there a type of art/craft that you cant do?

i love CBs crocheting but its ok if your not up for anything like that. i love seeing your paintings but only when your up for it.

oh thats good! the nearest art gallery to me in an hr and a half away but its really small and doesnt have much in it as ive been there before. hopefully the one you seen was bigger and had a few more things in it....

I grew up with craft work @outlander, so I have learned quite a range of skills.

Have you heard the term “Jack of all trades, master of none ?” I am fairly skilled with my painting, but not exactly a master of all the crafts I have dabbled in.

Perfectionism is usually driven by some sort of fear or shame or blame, but a pursuit of excellence is different @outlander ..... it’s driven by natural curiosity and joy of learning. Remember that, and when you are feeling overwhelmed by something you are trying to achieve, stop and check your “driver” .... what is your motivation ? Once you understand this, you can learn to change drivers when you recognise that something is not healthy.
