Couldn't afford a house here, @Bubbles3. I live on a disability pension. As it is I share the place with my longtime good friend/companion, so the expenses are halved for each of us. The rents here have skyrocketed. I'm on the Gold Coast and the Commonwealth Games are pushing all the prices up wildly. That makes me angry, though there's not much point to it because I'm only hurting myself by feeling that way.

Great though that you have Rusty to keep you company when you are on your own during the day. I'm feeling isolated here today. Companion is working late but may see a friend tonight. I don't have kids. How many hours until yours return home today?

Only a little while to go now, @Bubbles3. I'm guessing the children take your attention when they are home. At least you and I have someone to come home to us later too. Not everyone has that. My friend, if she comes, won't be here until after C gets home. So it's a fairly long stretch to go here. Glad of the forum on days like today.
