@Mazarita haha that's an awesome dream catcher! I started reading the article at the cafe and can really relate to it. There's something really creative about working through the night and I'm glad I'm not the only one who does so. It's getting bright here too so I'll probably get a bit of sleep lol.

I really enjoyed our chat too. Tag me anytime. 🙂

I am doing something I have never done ..... going to the movies with a girlfriend. It was something I wanted to do with my mother at this stage of our lives, with my kids grown up and reduced commitments, but didn’t factor in losing her before “our” time ...... so this one is for Mum !

Am about to leave the coffee shop and sit with my S2 as he checks his emails to see whether an offer for uni over east is in there somewhere ....... he hasn’t been able to, and asking him to sit with him is his version of Dutch courage ...... I hope to God it’s there, but there is another round of offers coming out in a couple of weeks if he has missed out on this round .......

I am having to sit on mr.f&h to the side meantime as he is champing at the bit to hound S2 into chasing it down and dotting and crossing everything and everyone in sight to try to control it all into happening. This is triggering the panic response in S2 ...... so welcome to our carousel ..... 😏

Thinking of sorting out my wardrobe before we leave, now that D3 cleaned up the TV room a couple of weeks ago from where mr. f&h has emptied the contents of S2’s room into it months ago and left it like that ...... couldn’t face that tsunami myself so I too left it all there .......

I can now empty out my wardrobe into that space, sort it, and out it all away again, and that will make me feel better about jumping on the plane too, feeling like there is some order in this world for when we come back for the uni breaks. Maybe being away from it all will enable me to work on it progressively when so am at home, and it gives time for D1 to keep removing her stuff that hasn’t made it across to her new home yet either.

Baby steps ...... but even those require emotional energy ......

Hi @Faith-and-Hope. I'm thinking you might be in the movie just now. Hope it's a good one and that you enjoy the novel experience of doing it with a girlfriend. I wonder if S2 has received an email by now, I hope so. If not, fingers crossed there's one in next week's round of offers. Mr F&H sounds like he's being his usual painful self. I know about baby steps requiring emotional energy!

I've just got home from a very frustrating visit to the gastroenterologist. I will post more about that on 'The Long Rave'. Not feeling the best in the wake of that. It was also a nuisance process getting there and I was kept waiting (as always) for almost an hour. For the (usual) 5 minute session. Not happy with this specialist really but I seem to have trouble with gastroenterologists in general. I've really had some doozy experiences with them.

Hope the afternoon into evening treats us both well. Lovely to chat here with you, kind of one on one. Feels like we haven't done that for quite a long time. Ciao bella.

Yes, lovely to chat to you too. I do keep abreast of your news ..... it was probably the night shift we were keeping early on that provided more one to one space.

Had a run-in on the phone with mr. while I was out - home again now - and still feeling rattled from that, so might use that energy to take a long second walk this afternoon. The run-in was a cold rage interaction ..... haven’t had one of those for a while so I think my shield was down .....

The movie was The Greatest Showman, and I loved it. Would dearly have loved to take my mother ..... and it reminded me of all the old musicals we used to watch on Tv ..... she used to call me to sit and watch them when she came across them ..... we had b&w Tv when everyone else had colour, but these old musicals were in b&w anyway ..... lol .....

Thanks for the kind wishes, @Faith-and-Hope. I am feeling sick to the stomach, I got so upset. But I am focussing on calm and winding myself down as much as I can now.

Yes, I think it was in the old days of Night Shift that we would sometimes get time to chat one on one.

Great idea with the second walk. I feel for you living with such a painful relation with Mr F&H in an ongoing way. That's aside from the other complications that come with it for the whole family.

Wonderful to hear you enjoyed the movie. I too have fond memories of childhood times when it was just me and mum, watching old movies together on TV. We too had an old B&W that ran on bulbs and tubes. Mum impressed me with her capacity to fix the TV when it went on the blink. Into the bulbs and tubes she would go, twiddling and replacing until we had image and sound again.
