Hi guys Anyone just wanna chat? Share a tea or coffee? I remember there was another thread but it seems to be gone @Faith-and-Hope@utopia@Former-Member@Pepsimax@BlueBay@Owlunar@Mazarita@Former-Member@eth@CheerBear@Phoenix_Rising@Shaz51@Former-Member@Adge@Shaz51@Bimby2@Former-Member@Ney@Sans911@Former-Member@soul@Former-Member@Queenie@patrickT@embers
No plans for tomorrow here, @Faith-and-Hope. I think I will be recovering from today, though I may surprise myself.
How long since you last saw your dad?

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?
He came here a couple of months ago @Mazarita. He lives a day’s drive away, which is a lot at his age, but he is still very independent.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?
That's good to hear he's still independent, @Faith-and-Hope. My mum is similar, but she does have support in Melbourne from her brother and one of my cousins. Sounds like it might be good just now for you to get away alone to see your Dad?

@Faith-and-Hope, I just realised I'm about to crash. Need to log off now and go to sleep. Thanks for your company tonight. I hope you sleep well when you get there.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?
@Sans911 I'm in WA as well and have severe PTSD. I can only find one place that does DBT and I can't get to it. It starts at 8.30am and there is no way I can ever get there by that time.
Do you know of any online dbt? My psych says old benefit. I bought the book and workbook and it seems daunting to tackle alone.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?
@Awpgirl - I'm not entirely sure where you are in WA but if you live in the city, there are several places that do DBT. But it is locality directed, that is, if you live North, South, East or west. 360 Health runs a free program in the East. Unfortunately I can't give you the location but they can. There's a bit of a wait list. Hollywood Private also has a 12 week course if you're a private patient.
You're right. I wouldn't undertake a course on your own. It's quite challenging, and you need good support. Have you seen the DBT thread on here? It's quite well written. @CheerBear & @Phoenix_Rising are essentially writing/running it. It's quite good & anyone can join in. Facebook has a number of groups as well; some of them run lessons so look for those.
Ive done one round of each module before taking a break & going back on the wait list. Do if you nerd help with anything, just tag me. Only too happy to help, and I've lots of resources to help with learning.
All the best. Let me know how you get on.

Re: Anyone feel like chatting?
Hi @Awpgirl I live in WA as well, & I have CPTSD.
I'm sorry I don't know of any face to face DBT groups or resources.
There's a very good website called DBT Self-help, that my Psychologist told me about.
Maybe that would be helpful, if you haven't already seen it.

Thanks @Sans911 I am aware of the one in Hollywood Clinic that starts too early for me.
I'll ask my psychiatrist if there are any and my case manager Thanks
