Anyone feel like chatting?

Hi @Catcakes ...... I received a phone call just after you posted about caring dor your mother and you SO .... so wasn’t deliberately ignoring it .... but I understand it can come across that way .....

Caring for an elderly parent can be really tough. While my dad is still independent and lives in the country, my mother in law is much closer, but we have other family members to pitch in and help, and she is also still fairly independent. I have seen other people though, where elderly parents are needing virtually full-time attention, and as @Queenie said, that’s a tough gig .....

And for your SO as well ..... that’s my biggest area of concern in our circumstances, with a lack of insight on his part driving the issues ..... so I can empathise with you there too, so much. It creates an imbalance in the relationship that must feel very out of kilter too.

What @Former-Member is talking about in terms of “chat” and “call” are the Sane Help Centre .... there is a phone number somewhere there at the top of the page, and there is also online chat in-real-time email.

I wanted to decorate our Christmas tree with painted plastic dinosaurs, but it wasn't a popular option so I was vetoed lol. I still think it would have looked awesome, what do you think @Former-Member? I would have put a Pterodactyl at the top.

@Catcakes I'm sure you'll get the hang of how a forum works and this will just be teething problems. Remember you can start your own thread, people will reply. I thought nobody would reply to my thread called 'I Feel', but I've literally had over 100 replies over the past while. You'll get there. Can I suggest Friday Feast this Friday from 7pm AEDT? That's where you'll definitely find responses and it is a lot of fun.
