**Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

**Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

Apologies for this long, ranting post, but I have to get it out of my head. I don't care if you read it or not.

For weeks now, I felt so incredibly overwhelmed with sadness; on the edge of tears constantly that never get released. I'm back on medication for depression which doesn't seem to be working after 3 weeks.

Nothing brings much satisfaction anymore, not even my job, which was one thing I had to hold onto to keep me going. And after yet another impulsive attempt and a trip to hospital last weekend, where I also take shifts, my professional conduct & capacity is being questioned by other staff and departmental managers. I don't blame them; I would probably feel the same way.

My SI is actually an acceptable 'coping mechanism' for my BPD when life gets to much, and I need to shut down. But now it's become a burden and problematic because of how often I've presented to hospital in the last 6months. Often if I feel 'safe' enough, I stay home and sleep it off. So now, after feeling like I've burdened health services to the point of annoyance, I feel like I have go ahead and made a proper effort because I deserve to be punished for that. I can't 'urge surf' these SI/SA thoughts anymore. I feel compelled to put them into proper action. Now that I have made that decision, I am scared, that if I really intend to go through with it, there's no coming back, no tommorows.

Why do I now suddenly care so much about dying, when I never did before with any other major attempts? I don't really know, but it's got me really rattled how stuck my mind is on making it work. I guess maybe I want to stick around for a bit longer. But this feeling of hopelessness is all consuming and strong.

I don't know what to do. I don't know who to turn to anymore, as the support services have heard it all before, so nothing they suggest helps. Not even my loved DBT skills help. How do you keep going when nothing helps, loved ones can't reach you, and it's just takes so long to feel any bit of right?

Re: **Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

@Sans911umm no! But am running on coffee atm!!

Well that was rude of your cat, bitting you. Hope he got told off for it. Was good that you were able to go back to sleep.

Yeah last night was difficult but managed and had people to talk to on here so that was good. I am ok now. My thoughts have calmed down a bit which is good. Hopefully if I can keep things under control today I should be able to sleep tonight. Went to the supermarket this morning. Plans today are to sit in front of the aircon and be a couch potato!! Too hot outside already.

What are you up to today?

Re: **Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

@Former-Member he sure did get told off, with a slap on his rump as well.

I'm glad your thoughts have calmed a little. Unfortunately my ok thoughts have plummeted a bit, and I can feel SI thoughts stirring, so I'm acknowledging them, but trying to ignore them at same time. I'll read my book or watch some Netflix for distraction. Don't worry, I'm safe atm. I've no intention of yet another hospital stay. If I stay home, then I can control my thoughts/urges.

I have to pick up my mother just after 4pm from the airport, so another protective reason not to end up in hospital. The airport isn't very far from me; about 15-20mins.

So just a quiet day here. I'll change my sheets later as my mother sleeps in my queen bed and I sleep on the futon in the back sun room

@Sans911glad you told him off and he got a smack, deserved too.

I am glad you are still safe but not good that they are stirring up again. I have been trying to acknowledge my SI thoughts, put them on a cloud and let them float away. It is something I need to practice a lot but am going to try and stick with it for now. My psych suggested it so I am happy to try anything if it might help.

I know your mum is only there for one night. Nice to catch up with her however hard to keep that front up of everything being ok.

Re: **Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

@Former-Member I've tried that (putting on a cloud) but the damn thing gets blown back to me! For now they are fairly harmless. More what ifs then thoughts of harm. Thankfully, I don't feel any need at the moment to progress further.

Yes, my mother knows very little about my MI, and has no idea about the multiple hospital admissions. I'm pretty good at hiding stuff from her, and luckily my brother and sister agree to keep information to themselves.

Re: **Trigger warning** Stuck in world of sadness and Suicidal Ideation

@Sans911well I will let you know how I go. If they get blown back to me I might put them on a boat, send it to sea and then nuke them!!

Unfortunately we don't know the what if's, but can be scary sometimes not to know them.

Yes I remember you saying about telling your mother little. I hardly tell mine anything either. Am glad that your brother and sister keep it from her too.

@outlander @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member

I see you've all had a difficult day, so I'm hoping that the close of this day that tommorrow might be just a little better. I had a low day today that even my foster sister picked up from my texts. Not much SI thank goodness, just a day of feeling flat and very tired. I've had a pleasant, quiet evening with my mother. I made dinner and we relaxed in the lounge room after. My house mate is away overnight.

Goodnight all my lovely sisters. 💙 💜 💙 💜 💙 💜
