The great yoga adventure

The great yoga adventure

Hi all,

So...somehow I seem to have made myself a deal with @CheerBear that we are both going to venture into the super scary world of yoga next Monday. I'm SCARED!!!! I've been trying to psych myself up to go to a class for about a year and now thanks to a pesky little care bear, it seems like it is going to happen next Monday.

I have my mat and my outfit (and thanks to @Former-Member and @Former-Member I know to wear underpants under yoga pants ). Now I just need to find some courage. Hmmm...courage...I'm sure I have some here SOMEWHERE in my shell...

Only six sleeps away. This sounds way too close. Yep, this little turtle is going to need to do some serious psyching up before next Monday!!! All encouragement is warmly welcome.

Your post made me laugh @Phoenix_Rising. I love the baby goats that look like us shopping trolleying 🙂 @Shaz51 's goat with it's tongue poking out is seriously cute too.

@Mazarita - big like on your post! 🙂

Re: The great yoga adventure

I have just eagled for tonight. I seem to be a better left-roosting-eagle than right-roosting-eagle. Maybe because I left-roost first... I'll have to try the opposite tomorrow!
What on earth am I going to do with more than one yoga goat? Do they already know how to stand in a pyramid?

All this talk of treeing made me realise that I had almost forgotten how to tree. But it's ok, I remembered and quickly treed to make sure that I'll have a better spot to perch on next time I eagle.

Re: The great yoga adventure

Nice one @Phoenix_Rising Yes I will try to do some eagling, but what is it? I have no idea.

I certainly don't like downward dog (yoga pose) - it's one of the most common, but I find it hard & I don't like it. Even after 6 years of doing weekly (& twice weekly) yoga classes...

Re: The great yoga adventure

Of course I have eagled today @Phoenix_Rising. Last weekend I bought some hand weights that I keep in the lounge room so I can do some exercises for my upper body to compliment my walking. I did that and then eagled.

Still missing the yoga studio with its timber floors and soft lit ambiance. It's fragrance and peaceful music. Haven't been able to replicate it here. The place across from me is getting renovated and there is a lot of noise - tools and people yelling going on.

I love the baby goat you chose for me. I hope it stays that size. I also hope my dog gets along with it as she is the jealous type.

I don't think I could do yoga with boots on especially the eagle pose @CheerBear. I need to spread my toes out for balance.

Yep, nice to see @Mazarita @Maggie@TheVorticon@Adge@Owlunar@Shaz51@utopia all rising to,the challenge too.

Re: The great yoga adventure

@TheVorticon Yay for eagling today. Here, have a baby goat.

Isn't it going to be exciting when you have seven baby goats @TheVorticon!!!

@soul I knew you would have eagled. I super hope your yoga studio re-opens soon.

@Adge I'm excited that you are joining our virtual yoga group. I'm pretty sure that in the thousands of years that people have been doing yoga, there has never been a yoga group quite like this one! Lucky for you, we have already had a week of doing downward dog. Here is how to be an eagle: https://www.doyogawithme.com/content/eagle-pose And if you decide that being an eagle isn't for you, you can be a baby eagle like this: https://www.doyogawithme.com/content/eagle-pose-arms-only-garudasana So...you can look like this:

Or like this:

And don't forget, every eagle gets a free baby goat. Actually, that sounds really wrong. I'm not going to think too hard about what an eagle might do with a baby goat.

Does this look photoshopped to you?

Re: The great yoga adventure

Hi @Phoenix_Rising (whispering) thanks for the baby goat that I'm not telling anyone else about because I didn't really eagle but only treed. (loud whisper) I LOVE MY BABY GOAT!

I like how happy it is in this discussion thread. Yoga must be good!

Re: The great yoga adventure

Oh yes @Phoenix_Rising I know what the eagle pose is! We do it every few weeks in our yoga classes.

I just thought you were meaning something different.

I usually wobble like mad, & virtually fall over doing the eagle pose..

I have to do it with my toes on the ground (instead of raised), so that I don't wobble so much...
