Something’s not right

-Enigma-

-Enigma-

I have given up now - no one can say it was not without a fight. But then no one on heaven and earth would give a damn anyway. I gave from the heart and it was a joy to help others. I felt such peace with that. I never did it for anything in return ever, I did it because I truly cared and felt so much genuine compassion towards others. I was promised dreams and peace would come true even though I never asked. It felt so good to know I made someone's lives a bit better.

Why is it that people like me are then faced with so much heartache, injustice, trauma and adversity that seeks to do everything in its power to destroy that good, to take the little good and peace I had, to utterly destroy me. Why?

I had always been there when possible others times of need - now that I truly need someone I have been all but abandoned by those I knew and those in the spirit. I realise now everything was a lie and feel utterless helpless and lost. I have lost everything and don't see the point in being here. I hope I don't wake up to another day of despair.

Hello dear @CheerBear

I love boring weekends. To me that equals normality and peace. Just to sit back and do the simple mundane things can feel good after being in the storm. And the appreciation of it sings a beautiful melody. I am with you - I like boring.

But crocheting is far from boring. Anything creative is not only a enjoyable relaxing time - the finished product brings joy to others who see it. So yes, we would love to have a look when you have the chance to put a pic up 😀

@Maggie, your lyrics encourage me - they are straight from the heart and you are good at expressing yourself in song. You have inspired me to write again which I will try and do more of tomorrow. My husband has been ill today so that has dictated my time and care - I am taking on the whole fort at the moment.

The positive is my daughter. I am gobsmacked but delighted at how she has turned her life around. Only a month ago I could see little hope (but always held onto it). She is so level headed and responsible now (but still untidy unfortunately - order may come in time). And gracious to us. She will have her bad days but not like before. And she loves me which is such a bonus. She is working 10hr shifts to pay her bills and does not complain. She comes home smiling. What a turnaround! Her outlook on life has taken a turn for the better. So miracles do happen, I am now convinced. And our love for her and stepping back has finally proved fruitful. It is hard to believe she is the same girl who was clinging for life only a year ago. I am so grateful for this. So hoping it lasts

@Maggie - you and others can definitely can share your woes here as that is what this forum is here for. Not just to hear mine - that would be way too boring lol ! Vent away about your visitor if you feel comfortable to do so as I am all ears and here for you (as others on here are too). I may not have the answers but sometimes it helps just to talk about something and get it off our chest. Clears the air of frustrations so to speak. So please do talk away. My friends tell me their woes and I definitely put you in that category. What do you think is ailing the visitor?

I cannot always respond straight away due to my husband's health etc, but I always happily will. This forum and its members are hugely important to me. Look forward to seeing the pic of the curtains xx

Hi @Shaz51 - so good to read that you are feeling a bit better. Sounds like you are having a wonderful day with your mum and relatives and the street parade sounds like fun. I hope you went, it would do you the world of good. Just Sorry to read Mr Shaz is feeling tired. Is he unwell physically or a bit depressed? I know how hard that is to watch as my husband has been quite ill today and it can be worrying. Be sure to put your feet up at the end of the day and be kind to you too. Thinking of you xx

@Former-Member You are so right, miracles do happen, and as you are witnessing one right now regarding your daughters complete turnaround. Here's hoping the same results come with your husbands tests. I never doubted your daughters love for you,Mobutu she did get good at covering it up, self protection maybe.

Im thrilled you like my lyrics and that you are inspired to add to your writing, looking forward to the group when you are ready.

The visitor......she has a narcisstic personality...do I have to say much more. I blame myself as I can't speak up, why, I hate confrontation, doesn't everyone, but she manipulates and, and, and. I did end the relationship before Christmas which was sooooo hard. Then her sister having major heart surgery dragged my heart strings and here I am. Things have a way of working themselves through, look at your daughter for instance, so,,I'm watching and waiting. For now it's all I can do. I'm the old worn out door mat, worn thin with wear.

Its hard for you with your man being ill. Sometimes it's harder for the person without the illness, as you can often feel helpless. Did you enjoy going out, or was it a chore?

My curtains will be going up next Friday when my counsellor comes armed with a drill and plenty of experience.

looking forward to that. I'm sitting down with a coffee and some music. Have you heard the song..You Raise me up, beautiful lyrics. It's one now. Wishing you a restful evening. Take care.

Re: -Enigma-

Hi @Maggie

Yes narcissistic personality does explain it all. I thought she may have been attempting to emotionally manipulate you when she was out in the garden all night.....It's a shame, as it sounds like you did have some good times together too. I was hoping that this was outweighing the negatives as loneliness is not a good situation either. I am so pleased you have such a loving, committed social worker.

Things do have a way of working themselves out, but I had to confront my daughter at times and step back. If you are finding your visitor overbearing and draining with her attention seeking and manipulation, then maybe stepping back from her a bit at a time may be helpful for you. Confrontation is difficult for anyone but there are ways of stepping back without saying anything. Just not giving into their demands with a gentle but firm no or sorry I can't, making ourselves unavailable to them. Without totally dissociating ourselves from them. Could your social worker help guide you there?

You are a kind, unique and warm person, please don't change. It's what makes you special and draws me to you. But with some people who are not respecting our well being in return we have to draw a line in the sand. You are not a door mat. It took me awhile to work out I wasn't either. We can love whilst setting our personal boundaries. A must for self preservation.

I listened to the song You raise me up....just beautiful. It's on my favourite list now. Will try and do some writing tomorrow and will let you know how it goes.

I hope I have helped a bit with your situation and understood it properly. Please let me know as I care for you. Always look forward to your posts. xxx

Hello @Shaz51

Thats great that you all had such a good day out together. I do understand how medications for anxiety and depression can cause tiredness - they use to do that to me. A wonderful effort on Mr Shaz's behalf - and on yours for all the love and support you give your family. And so humbly. I know the strength that takes and I am proud of you too @Shaz51

I am not too bad at all. I probably worry too much about my husband but I do believe all will be good with him. The stress over the years has taken its toll on my physical health so I have some work to do to become fitter again. I have been up and down like a roller coaster with my emotions, but making the most of peaceful moments these last few days to uplift my spirits. And hope to be on an even keel again soon. It will take time as I have been to hell and back. Hugs xxx

Sweet dreams @Shaz51@soul@Maggie@CheerBear xx

Thank you @Appleblossom - my daughter has made quite a remarkable turnaround. I am so grateful and happy for her also. Now I should have the environment to fully heal 🙏😆

I read somewhere that you are performing in a choir over three nights. How is that going? What are your favourite songs you like to sing? Do you still play the piano? It was so good to read of the growing closeness that you are enjoying with your son. Things are looking up for us. Sweet dreams my dear friend 😴💕xx
