Something’s not right

-Enigma-

-Enigma-

I have given up now - no one can say it was not without a fight. But then no one on heaven and earth would give a damn anyway. I gave from the heart and it was a joy to help others. I felt such peace with that. I never did it for anything in return ever, I did it because I truly cared and felt so much genuine compassion towards others. I was promised dreams and peace would come true even though I never asked. It felt so good to know I made someone's lives a bit better.

Why is it that people like me are then faced with so much heartache, injustice, trauma and adversity that seeks to do everything in its power to destroy that good, to take the little good and peace I had, to utterly destroy me. Why?

I had always been there when possible others times of need - now that I truly need someone I have been all but abandoned by those I knew and those in the spirit. I realise now everything was a lie and feel utterless helpless and lost. I have lost everything and don't see the point in being here. I hope I don't wake up to another day of despair.

Re: Over The Edge

@Former-Member So very sorry you are both feeling so bad. Disappointed your daughter hasn't bothered to see if you need help though. Yes it's so hard being alone. A few years ago I broke my arm ( another fall)!Im not clumsy, age I think. OMG did I say that!!!!! In the middle of the night I had to get a taxi to a&e as the pain was so bad. It's hard ok. Do you have a chemist who could deliver to you? Also Coles will deliver groceries while you are too unwell to go out, at least that way you have something to eat. Sustagen is also a good stand by if you can't cook!!!!!! Smoothies too.

Still stumbling round in the pit. No power down here, Telstra don't dig this far down, so relying on candle light and warm friendship. Thank you.

You sound homesick for your old garden. They become friends our plants don't they. We nurture and care for them and they give such happiness, like our pets.

There are so many places to visit here in Tassie, some depending on the time of year you decide to come. Lots of parks. There's a lavender farm, tulip farm. Spectacular when in bloom. I went to the sea horse farm once which was amazing to see such fragile beautiful creatures, also platypus and fairy penguins. I'll have a look for the best spots. The Huon valley which I've only seen pics of, is stunning, worth a look I think.

My counsellor was here today. She's such a well balanced person, very sensible and caring. Never judgemental, I wish you could see her, she would be so good for/to you.

Can you read atm, or is your concentration hard? I guess imposed rest really, you have no choice.

Christmas is just around the corner @Former-Member I hate Christmas with a vengeance. Just a stark reminder of how alone some of us are. I believe in the message, not the commercilasition of it.

My friends sister will be going home in the next few weeks. That brings extra stress for her as she will need to be available to help. Well dear friend. Put your feet up. A warm hug.

Hello my dearest @Maggie

Feeling a bit better today my friend. How are you feeling?

It is very hard being sick when alone. I didn't realise Coles and pharmacies still delivered - I will ask the local ones I shop at today as I will have to go down there. Hopefully it won't flare my symptoms up again. But I am more worried about my husband as he is worse (can't stop coughing to the point it is hurting his chest, shoulders etc)

We managed to have a laugh the other night though. We were watching a programme about the reunion of the group "Abba". I loved their music. I mentioned to my husband how they must be getting on as they are older than I (I am 56). Touring really takes it out of one physically and I mentioned they must need the money to reform at their age. To which my husband piped up and sung "Can you here the farts Fernado" lol. Just cracked me up. We have a terrible, weird sense of humour. Good on them I say as I would go to their show!

My friend just rang and chastised us for not ringing them to ask for help with things. It was good to know others did care. Our fault for not asking - I feel that I am imposing by doing such. Time to eat humble pie.

Your counsellor sounds great - I would of love to have one like her. No such luck yet.

Christmas is an unpleasant time of the year for me too my friend. For the reason you stated and the reminder of my losses. Many on this forum feel the same way and last year there was a supportive thread where members offered support of each other to help get through that low period. You may find this very helpful - I know I did and will. I too uphold the true meaning but you are right - that's lost in commercialism.

I am off to the shops shortly which I am not at all looking forward too but must do. I just received a text stating my angel cross stitch was ready to pick up Yahoo! Will be doing so on Monday - so be prepared for some pictures of it coming through this week. I just have to work out how to take a picture without the glass reflecting in the photo distorting it - maybe will get a shot outside? Will see.

My daughter texted us and stated she is definitely moving out. Never expected it this soon but it's on good terms and she seem happy. I just hope she pulls her weight and that it last. A lot of changes happening for us presently and my anxiety is up a little.

The situation at the shop between the manager and board chair lady seems to have settled. It seems the board lady asked the manager to retire because she was worried about her health (cancer returning). Which would be the worst thing for the manager as she needs the distraction. It's how she copes. Hopefully a resolution will be made. I am worried for the manager as she goes for a biopsy on Tuesday and her anxiety is an all time high which is understable. She still offer us help. She is a good person and I will be praying hard for her recovery.

What are your plans for the weekend my friend? ❤️xxxx

Re: Over The Edge

@Former-Member I hope the home deliveries don't mean Tassie is soooo far behind the rest of Aus!!!!!! Most chemists deliver here, and both Coles and Woolies do daily deliveries. That's how I shop as stores terrify me. Hope you can get some deliveries, it would really help. Good to hear your friends are offering help, and yes it's hard to ask but so easy to give.

Can you hear the farts Fernado made me laugh. I too love Abba, I didn't know they were reuniting, hope they can hold a note at their age. I'm 66 so have 10 on you...an old fart...lol

I went back to bed this morning. My fur baby likes to get me up around 6am, she runs all over the bed, licks my face then sits on it, my face that is. Up she gets, has brekky, then sleeps on my knee. So this morning I went back til 10 am, when she started running again.lol. Doing a bit of cross stitch now. Oh the Angels coming home on Monday. I can hardly wait to see her.

By the sound of your daughter, things are working out. She should be well settled by the time you move. WTG.

Your husband doesn't sound well at all. Coughing really takes it out of you, hopefully he improves soon.

Good news also about work. I can understand you friend needing work as she gets through this latest hurdle. Life really is tough.

The Christmas thread sounds good, I'll keep an eye out for when it starts.

Still snow on the mountains @Former-Member and cold. @@Zoe said her heater is broken and has no heat atm, hard this time of year down this way. I might head back to bed, energy levels are very low. Hope you rest when you return from the shops. Take care. Warm hug.

Re: Over The Edge

Good evening @Maggie

How has your Sunday been? Mine quite ordinary as we are still sick and I am starting to get down. But the up side is daughter is genuinely trying to pay her debts and is really trying to improve her lifestyle for now. She is starting just now to see some of the wisdom I have been trying to ge through all these years. Will see how it all goes.

My husband is 66 years old too! As is my best friend. People my age I find hard to meet strangely. Either my friends are 15 years younger or older. The latter I am more comfortable with because no matter how the years pass I will always be the "chickee babe of the group" lol.

I had a chuckle over my husband's version of Abba's Fernado too. Puts a whole new meaning to "There was something in the air that night"...😝😝😝

My husband served in Vietnam when he was 19. He looks great for his age, slim, tall with a full head of hair and good sense of humour and spirit - you wouldn't know he had cancer looking at him. He is young at heart. (Although man flu has taken hold at the moment 😝)

Its really hard to survive such winters without heating - I know as I have lived in -10 degree temperatures, not to mention the added chill factor. We had to have a fire going 24/7 10 months of the year. It's harsh living. Hope you are okay @Zoe7.

Hope you managed to get some more rest. I can't sleep during the day and not very well at night presently. So feeling a little blargh all round. Hopefully next week will be better. Do you have any plans for it? 🤗xx

Hope your daughter's neck is on the mend now @Faith-and-Hope and that your weekend was relaxing 💕

Re: Over The Edge

Hi @Former-Member ..... 🤗💕

My weekend wasn't too bad, thanks. WH is still ansty so I'm copping some passive-aggressive carry-on occasionally, but that will probably increase as we move forward into different forms of therapy and our situation gets poked and prodded.

My daughter's neck is a legitimate injury, but affected by her emotional state which is not great. I think it's another presentation of anxiety and depression, different from her brother's. It is slowly improving, but much more slowly than you would expect for this sort of injury.

My other at-home daughter is being reactive in another way again ..... she is being passive-aggressive disobedient. This is my one with an intellectual disability. She is seeking a lot of attention for things she has been long capable of.

There is nothing I can really do except try to keep the boundaries in place, and step up my s of-care where I can.

Re: Over The Edge

@Former-Member Good morning to you and you also @Faith-and-Hope.

Age is a funny one isn't it. My brain tells me I can do anything, my body disagrees, but young at heart is a good thing. Serving at 19 would have been so hard, with many memories I imagine. Your husband is a brave man, sad the man flu has him atm though. My ex was a baby. OMG I must have been desperate.lol.

Gee I'm impressed with your daughters efforts. She sounds like a huge corner has been turned, here's hoping all goes well for her.

Yesterday I pushed myself out into the garden for 1/2 an hour, it was a beautiful day, and I pulled out quite a few weeds. Then had a go at cross stitch. Always hard when I'm struggling as concentration is lacking badly. After four efforts of stitching unpicking, I finally won. Simple things that usually take no effort become major. But I felt I had done something also looked after my friends dog.

I'm waiting for my tulip to open so I can take another pic for you. Busy pressing blossom from my tree atm.

Today you pick up Angel....can't wait to see her all ready for the wall. You must be heading out by the sound of it, or that might depend on how well or unwell you are feeling.

My first morning coffee for the day now, sending you warm wishes.

@Faith-and-Hope I have no idea how you cope with what you do. You sound busy as a bee. Do you ever get any YOU time???? Sending warm wishes your way.

Re: Over The Edge

Hi @Maggie.... 💕

I do have quite a lot of me-time these days actually. With all my kids finished school, two married and out of the house, and the youngest three house-bound at the moment, I am doing only the basics of housework.

I am taking things at a pace I am comfortable with, after many years of rushing from pillar to post. I started with three kids under 2yo with the birth of our twins, and one had major health issues for years, which meant specialists almost weekly, and multiple surgeries, amongst physio, audio, speech and OT appointments.

We were running a theee-ringed circus with work commitments and a very full extended family life with my husband's family (mine were a few hours drive away in the country, not easily accessible) .... and we are bicultural with many celebration days as a part of all that.

Then we had multiple ongoing issues with housing, issues with the pregnancies of the next baby, as I had with the twins, and an international move and back. I lost my mother to a rare illness in there, and we had been very heart-close, so it was a devestating loss.

A couple of the kids had educational issues through lack of teacher engage, ent (D2) and ignorance over learning styles and bilingualism ..... all educational back-waters at the time, and multiple schools for drop-off and collect within a three-quarter-hour morninging and afternoon time span.

Are you dizzy yet ??

Then my hubby's illness arrived in its current form, and the world turned topsy-turvey again, with the biggest challenge of my life so far ..... now that we have drs on board with that his behaviour has settled to its own corner to a large degree, so we are in a strange and strained holding pattern at the moment, but while there is nothing I can really do for him, or the kids with the challenges they are holding together with, I have more me-time than I have ever had, I think.

Wow ... that was a long answer to a simple question .... 🌺🌿

Hi to you too @Former-Member .... 💕 .... and anyone else who is around.
