A day out...

A day out...

Hi everyone
Im thinking after the upcoming school holidays i need a day out of the ordinary that i can do. 2 screaming kids over the 2 weeks is going to be extremely draining.
So any ideas would be great
Ladies- i had an idea of a pamper day but wouldnt know what to include any suggestions? @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member @Pepsimax @Owlunar @CheerBear @Phoenix_Rising @Former-Member @Mazarita @Former-Member @eth @Former-Member

Re: A day out...

Hi @outlander,

I am another who finds a good massage fantastic. As @eth says, check the credentials of the masseur first. Then I ask for Swedish massage, which is not too hard on the pressure but is an all over relaxation massage. In fact I have just recently made the decision to invest in one of these every four weeks with a lovely Japanese masseur I found locally. She is awesome and my body feels better for the whole of the time in between. I've got one coming up on Thursday, can't wait!

Whatever you decide to do, I hope it's a wonderful and special day for you. ox

Re: A day out...

@eth whats the difference in sweedish massage, bamboo massage, remidial massage and relaxation massage?

and then there is body treatments?

Dry body brush?, sea salt body scrub?, clay body wrap?, cocoon?

Re: A day out...

Thanks @outlander. My problem is less finding ideas for things to do and more finding time or energy to actually do them. I find it a lot harder to get up and go when it's so cold and grey outside 😕 We've got oodles of crafty things waiting to do during the holidays which will be good indoor activities. A finger knitting hula hoop weave rug is one! That should keep them going forever 😉 I've got a heap of adult crafty things to keep me busy as well which also feels good.

Re: A day out...

i love doing crafty things too @CheerBear

i hear you about the lack of energy urgh but i find sometimes if i jsut gt up and do it or already have the day planned like the appointments booked then im more likeley to actaully do them.

wow ive never heard of that sort of rug before! if i look it up on the net will it show me ?

what things have you got planned?

so far during the holidays ive just got three visits to the cincemas to watch cars 3, despicable me 3, and the new diary of a whimpy kid too. ive also organised for both of my sisters to have a lesson each but on separate days, a movie night as ive jsut ordered a heap of new movies so we can watch them as well. and my middle sister is planning a few things with friends too so im hoping these holidays go really fast.

Re: A day out...

@outlander, deep tissue massage can be very painful from my experience, and especially massage that involves 'myofascial release'. I had a massage with someone a while ago (a student) and ended up with bruises. It is important to specify that you want something relaxing if that's what you are after, and to specify the level of pressure (soft, medium, hard) you like. When it's good though, massage is totally fantastic.

Hi @CheerBear, good to see you online at the same time. Your crafty stuff sounds great for the chilly days. Hope today's a good one for you.

Re: A day out...

I had a massage yesterday after pulling every muscle I know of and some I didn't even know I had, assembling a bunk bed. The massage person was ok. The room was very cold though and she used a big heat lamp over my back. It was one of those red ones that are just liked the ones that you see in terrariums. I think I liked lying under it more than the actual massage and could see myself investing in one for winter and becoming a lizard myself 😛

Hey @Mazarita 🙂 Nice to see you too. Your massage sounds like a really nice thing to do for you and something to look forward to. Hope your day is a good one also 🙂

Re: A day out...

yeah i had that release as well @Mazarita it was part of the treatment i was having. i had to get chiroed and then they told me to go get a deep tissue massage to release the muscles deep within too and it wasnt fun but im alot better than what i was so i guess its done something for me.

haha @CheerBear we have sooo many muslces and you dont realise it until you use the ones you never knew you had haha. i can imagine you being a lizard under your heat lamp lol
