A day out...

A day out...

Hi everyone
Im thinking after the upcoming school holidays i need a day out of the ordinary that i can do. 2 screaming kids over the 2 weeks is going to be extremely draining.
So any ideas would be great

Re: A day out...

Of you have some money to spend get a massage or a facial and a pedicure!

If you are on a budget grab a book and some of your fave snacks, rug up nice and warm and go down to the beach or a lake or the bush, somewhere where you can lay for hours and relax and switch between listening to the sounds and reading your book

Re: A day out...

Yes, yes, yes @outlander 🙂 Brilliant idea. First thing that came into my head was a massage and I see I'm not the only one to think it. I've only ever had one, it was a lady; but it involved her dancing around and me getting totally naked (which was off putting) - so I'd say ask a few questions first. Maybe a 'facial', which is like a face massage, I've had one of those too, it was really nice - it involved steaming my face (which was odd but nice) and all sorts of creams and oils being rubbed in, which was very nice - and my skin felt lovely and soft afterwards. Also I've had a (I think it was) protein treatment from the hairdresser (many years ago now), I got my hair washed which was like a lovely head massage, and my hair felt very soft afterwards.

These days I'd pick gazing at some water somewhere. Camping out overnight so I could greet the day in a new and different place to my backyard 🙂

@outlander a qualified therapist from the AMT I mentioned above would never do the things Niqueeta mentions. They will totally respect your privacy and keep you draped and only work on areas you are ok with e.g. just the back and neck. They will be professional at the same time as caring and respectful.

Hi Bella2

Yes utopia does have a good point,do something that is "time out"from everything but it is good to get your hair done, etc especially when we have so much self doubt,or lack self worth etc.I usually let my hair grow longer without a trim in winter but I feel when it grows at the moment I look my witchy-poo/psychotic!Lol.

Re: A day out...

Thank you everyone for all these ideas!
Now I dont know where to start- thanks guys-

I love being in the outdoors, but I really like the ideas of going shopping or getting 'pampered' as well. I also love Cbs idea of something crafty like a cooking class too though!

Maybe I can incorporate all three things into one day......
or try to make up a few days with different themes to each one?

Niqua- wow ive never heard of a massage therapist doing that. I have been once or twice as a form of treatment- often deep tissue massage- and thats never happened to me before.

I was looking into a few of these suggestions last night.
Theres actaully a few really nice beaches about half an hour away from me which would be nice to even just sit in the car and watch the waves go past- esp since the car park is on a hill over looking the whole beach.

To get nails done- it ranges in prives but theres a thing called Jamberry..? has anyone heard of this before- its like stick on nail polish with heaps of different patterns but they are glued on and they are suppose to last 1-2 weeks

my hair depending on what I get done- will range from 25- trim to 120- get the blonde streaks redone

theres a few spas around here- will looking into more packages yet- but they offer like hot stone, realaxation massage, salt therapy- whatever that is.

Re: A day out...

Sounds like options for you @outlander which is great 🙂

I may have a couple of days during the holidays to myself too and just the thought of it is exciting. I might plan something fun or nice to do too, though I might also have just as much fun doing absolutely nothing but sitting in my pjs 😄
