Hi @outlander
I think I found Sydney pretty daunting too - I finally knew my way back and forth from my hotel to Darling Harbour and then took a ferry around to Circular Quay - and got another ferry across to the zoo etc and that got to the the least anticipated and best part of my holiday
I got lost looking for the Harbour Bridge - I had to get a taxi driver to take me to Circular Quay - but hey - nothing ventured nothing gained - I joined in singing with some buskers - leaving before I wore out my welcome
Apart from being in the ferries I didn't get far really - but getting lost is part of the holiday - I had fun - even going into a Foodworks to get some snacks to take back to my hotel - really hard that - daunting - too right - I am not into buying ingredients for Asian Food - no where to cook it and what on earth do people do with seaweed? Never mind - I found room service great - plenty of yummy meals to replace what I was walking off
Melbourne - yes - apart from our weird weather Melbourne is the world's most livable city - not that you would believe that getting back home from the airport when the football is happening -
But I know Melbourne - I like Melbourne - woke up to heavy rain
Glad to be home

Hi @CheerBear
Yes - we have heavy weather here too - and I have been outside a bit between showers - some of my washing has to stay on the line - rain or not
Allergies - yes - I have them too - there is a golden wattle growning outside my unit - I love it - but sniffelysniffelysniffsniffsniff - sounds a bit like part of a sound track of a David Attenborough doco - I have to start taking antihistmines again -
My DVR isn't working properly - I had the feeling something was wrong before I went away but I never thought about it until I got home - I can't record and I can't change channels - I can use the DVD player and the TV is fine - so I think it's the remote control - parts of it work - I can ring the guy I hire this stuff off tomorrow - no trouble getting that done
With all this washing I realised I was missing my black trousers - aw - they are not brand new or anything - just handing - I gave up on them but when I got to my black suitcase to open it out to air I found them - good luck but bad luck - I have nearly finished washing - but I am glad I still have them
I'm glad you found your umbrella - I'm glad I found my trousers - I might get to the shops but I am looking forward to scrambled eggs and bacon for - hey - it's gone 2.00pm - I had a wonderful sleep in this morning
All the best CB

@OwlunarI find Sydney daunting too, & I grew up there & came over to Perth from there (22 years ago).
As for Melbourne, well I've only had one 3 day visit over 10 years ago - so I would probably get well & truly lost in Melbourne. Melbourned seemed really nice, I like the trams.
I've been in & out of bed all day today (& much of yesterday too). I haven't turned the corner yet.
In fact I actually felt worse (more zonked) today - despite having a locum Dr come at 10pm last night.
Another course of stronger antibiotics, as the 5 day course (almost finished) has not got rid of the infection yet.
I definitely won't be well enought to work tomorrow (Monday), yet I've got angst guilt & anxiety about calling in sick (for tomorrow) - I had to take Thursday & Friday off already.
The chemist said that lots of people have had repeated nasty infections over the past few months, he was not surprised at how hard I'm finding it to recover (or how long it's taking).
