Hi @Faith-and-Hope,
How have you been recently?

Re: Good Morning!

Good morning Niqua

I sent you a long message in General chit-chat and I forgot to tag you - I had to wait until I found somewhere else you had posted to go to your profile to find where this was - and now I have tagged it and I hope you find it

We never lose sight of the every day items we write - but when we put our heart and soul into them they they can get lost so easily

So - after all of that I hope your day is as good as it can be

Re: Good Morning!

Hi @Former-Member ..... 🤗💕

We have encountered turbulence again recently ..... but it is the sort of turbulence that has to happen to get our muddle sorted, so it's with mixed feelings that I am stepping up to whatever comes each day. WH has started to alter things about his regimen, but he has also been referred to someone in the course of getting our son (S2) sorted .... which he didn't tell me about .... so if he has started seeing this therapist I won't know until something gives it away.

The changes might be a result of the interactions so far, with the team of therapists starting to build around us.

How are you going ? It's good to see you ....

Re: Good Morning!

Hi @Faith-and-Hope,

This is sounding very promising! Although I'm not too sure what's been happening with S2? I know he was struggling. But it sounds really really promising that WH may be seeing someone.

When you're in a muddle and starting to sort it out, it's SO hard. And embaressing, and ashamed. I find it's hardest to admit to those I'm closest to. So he might finally be doing something about it, either for himself or for the kidlets, but hiding it from you and the fam.

It sounds really good that you've got a team of therapists around the fam helping out. I'm kinda glad I have a bit of a team around me now. Although it's harder to hide my MI and other things, but it means I have someone looking out for me. It also makes me more accountable for how I'm feeling. But that's also scary. And I don't want to.

I've been okay recently, good, but my heads been a bit mean to me recently. I hate having to talk about the voices in therapy, but I guess it might help. I have to trust that my therapist knows what he's doing, and that's hard.

Re: Good Morning!

Yes it is hard @Former-Member ..... but from what I am seeing with S2 and WH, with therapists who do know what they are doing, it is so worth while.

S2 dropped his bundle and had to defer from uni to get sorted. It wasn't just the pressure he was under, there is a personality disorder in play with WH along with the e.d. ..... and the kids are all carrying the traits of it ..... so WH's spin out has caught a pre-existing genetic foothold in S2, and his pdoc is working to keep him from sliding down the same slippery slope as his dad.

This new range of understanding and the coping skills being developed along with it will be priceless to us ongoing, as traumatic as it all is in this moment.

Probably the most important thing to note is that it's all on a spectrum ..... WH was triggered to slide down the spectrum to an extreme state, but he can be brought back from that edge and straightened up, with work and education.

Yeah .... the ol' Innwr Critic can be pretty sharp and loud ..... I hope you are making good headway with her .....

Re: Good Morning!

That must be a bit of a load off, even though it's hard right now - knowing the therapists know what they're doing.
I hope S2 is okay - uni can wait till he gets himself sorted, it's not going anywhere.
It must also be a relief knowing WH can be brought back, that it's on a spectrum.
I know I personally think all or nothing about my own MI, I kinda feel like I'll never be 'normal'. But I know that's not true, after all what exactly is 'normal'.
How are you personally going? Coping okay? Do you have an outlet/space something that brings you back to yourself, cause I imagine it's hard at times right now.
I really struggle with the idea that the voice inside my head is me. I know logically that it is, that it is my brain that is conjuring the voice. But every essence of my being rails against this idea. What could possibly possess my brain to produce such horrors? Why would I do this to myself? I just wish I could obliterate my brain that is responsible for it.
