Re: Good Morning!

It's not so much about not off nding him @Former-Member ...... if I protest the junk food it b comes like forbidden fruit to the kids and bits further into food issues ...... when what we all really need is to be able to relax around food ....... it's not an enemy (part of WH's food issues) nor a cure-all (another part of his food issues) .....: but a cross between nutrition and pleasure .......

It's important that we can feel just as pleasurable about, say, beautiful strawberries as, say, a packet of chips ...... and be able to naturally stay within portion sizes without the need to measure and count religiously.

I have to keep modelling that, but it's hard when food is flooding in and I am thrown into moderating territory instead of being the natural regulator ......

Nezzamind ...... hopefully all this is on borrowed time now anyway ..... sure hope so .......

Re: Good Morning!

Oh crikey @Faith-and-Hope

I am so glad I live alone - that has to be tough that WH gets of on providing everyone else with the food he would not eat because of his ED

That feels so wrong to me - I guess there were many dishes my mother had as favourites that were no doubt economical - as did I - but the meals I dished up were all healthy and partly vegetarian

Of course not everyone liked my cooking but with my mother's dinners of peas, chops and heaps of mashed potato: heaps of mashed potato. peas and chops: and of course, peas, heaps of mashed potatoes and chops - it has let me with a hatred of mashed potato

It must take a lot of salad to water or salt or whatever down on all those ca lo ries - ah - myself - I wouldn't eat it - I didn't always eat my dinner as a child - maybe that's way I was so thin

It sounds horrifc - I know it's hard but what if everyone refuses to eat the comfort food?

Sending more prayers, faith and hope -

Re: Good Morning!

Hi @Faith-and-Hope

I am one of those people who eats to live and I do have treats - which I mostly eat at the weekend - I agree in relaxing around food and eating what I enjoy

Sometimes the people who assist me with my shopping have to comment on the cost of the raspberries I get - yes - they are expensive - they are also my favourite fruit and full of anti-oxidents and they are just for me - I am not feeding a family with them - but their agony with my choice is somehow humerous to me - I eat three punnets of raspberries every week and did so when I lived totally on the pension

And I eat chips

But I do understand - and I hope their is a light at the end of the tunnel

I know WH would be upset - I think rather - but what would happen if all this extra stuff disappeared.

My ex-h had a few preferences I found strange - black pudding was one of them - I refused to cook it and when he did I refused to wash the frying pan - I was not into pandering to a guy who never told me that he either liked or disliked my cooking - and I cooked with variety

It can be a strange place - my son was long in the fang and ate everything except pumpkin - my daughter was picky and for a long time ate lettuce, sultanas, cheese and bananas - I ignored this - putting all the food on the table and let people help themselves - including Miss Picky's limited diet

Of course I liked everything I cooked - now I prefer everything prepare

But yes - let's hope the excessive comfort-food lasts but a short time

Omstars - it is pouring with rain again and the gardener has turned up to mow the lawns here - yes - nice that he does - but how on earth does he know I have a headache whenever he comes?

Nuff sed

Re: Good Morning!

Yeah @Owlunar .... good luck getting stressed out baby dragons to turn down floods of junk food ..... lol ..... but yeah, that would work ...., but it would also register as rejection u less they were putting in orders for strawberries and stiff instead, which does happen too .....

It's balance we need, and I'm guessing the growing team of therapists is going to include dietary support.

Re: Good Morning!

Not the best day to do the crap stuff outside @Ant7

I guess it would be worse if it was raining - I have the gardener outside in the heavy rain right now - I live in a place with semi-detached units spread around in a park-like area - it takes ages -

I am glad I am not working outside - but one of my crap jobs is cleaning the frying pan - and I have two - the little one is new but the old one - that is easy enough when I start but not ready yet

All the best with that Ant
