Caring for a wife with Borderline Personality Disorder- Sequel to Diary of wife’s hospital stay - holding it together for our family.

Caring for a wife with Borderline Personality Disorder- Sequel to Diary of wife’s hospital stay - holding it together for our family.

This discussion is a follow on from my previous thread Diary of wife’s hospital stay - holding it together for our family, a thread I started when my wife was admitted to hospital for the third time in 6 months and when everything around me seemed to be falling apart. It was a space where I could vent and express my emotions and helped me to process a particularly difficult time not only in my own life but for our family and helped me to hold myself together in order to support my family. For that I am most grateful.

Those of you who were following our journey will know that on my darlings return home I have been encouraged by my councillor to implement some loving boundaries, (lovingly implemented guidelines, not as rules to be enforced), and some self-care for myself.

Now that my darling is home the purpose of this new thread is to document our journey of healing and implementing new boundaries and commitment to self-care, not only so that I can have a visual plan for myself (a bit of self-accountability to follow through with plans in place) but in the hope that it may help others processing similar trials. It will also be an opportunity to track our progress over time.

@Appleblossom yes the one thay wants to catch up has been busy but it is a bit hard to see it as anything but deliberate when 2 of the ladies still catch up regularly and 1 of them is only just up the road.

I even arranged to borrow inlaws car (more seats) so I could do school run for her but she arranged someone to come from the other side of town to pick them up?

@Former-Member yes I am definatly letting my darling make her own decision.

I suspect that she more wants to find out why she was dumped than wanting to reconnect.

What did she like about the person?

I think she just liked having a lady to talk to who had same aged children, someone who at least pretended to understand and accept her for who she is.

She thought she was able to be herself around them but in reality she was being manipulated without even knowing it. Friends were coming before family... there in lies the problem after bub arrived she did not have the energy to run around after them so they dropped her.

@Determined

Sadly there are some very selfish people in this world.

your darling does seem very determined organising her own transport

hopefully she has the mindset to be assertive and have some questions answered

I have just realised this was hours ago..

how is she..able to talk about it at all?

hoping that life starts to settle a little more for you all

it is extremely difficult when life seems to throw things at us from every angle..

keep on venting... Keep up your own counselling appointments also

take care

@Former-Member the car borrowing and school run was for theso called friend after she asked could we help... told her yes and that we had arranged another car to accommodate all of the children, that was about when contact was cut ... was a big kick in the guts for me also after the effort i went to arrange things.

Maybe @Determined Appropriately SAD WOMAN.

Tbh @Determined

I mean

speaking frankly

NICE middle class ladies with their gossip, subtle nastinesses and exclusions and standover games

make me feel quite embarrassed for aspects of MY GENDER and sexuality.

Is it not a style I ever endorse.

Good Luck tho

Each situation and individual is unique, even if there are generic aspects.

MALE SMILEY

speaks to the androgynous aspect of myself

as MEN have also NOW managed to treat me like S***t (MASSIVE UNDERSTATEMENT)

even though I may have been on their side. hmmmm ... thats a reference to my ex husband.
