Flower back & starting over

Flower back & starting over

Good morning everyone and to my dear friends,

@Former-Member@Appleblossom @Kurra @BlueBay @Determined @utopia @Zoe7 @Queenie @Sahara @Shaz51 @Former-Member

I hope you are okay.

EVERY DAY IS A NEW BEGINNING, TAKE A DEEP BREATH, SMILE, AND START AGAIN.

The past 12 month have definitely been a game changer for me. Although it's been over two years of starting to discover - step by step - my mental health issues and coming to terms with the effect my childhood and other trauma had on my mental health, the past 12 months changed my life. I was in hospital three times, learnt more than I ever thought I would (want to) learn about mental health and strategies, adjusted my life and in the end finished the career I have always worked for so hard and wanted more than anything else in my life. I've ended relationships and created boundaries. I've started slowly to accept my inner child and that I actually have mental health issues.

And now I start with a clean canvas. A canvas that I will paint on and over for the rest of my life. Layers and layers of acrylic colours. Space for mindmaps to figure out what's really important for me, space for happy memories and for sad ones, but mainly space for the here and now.

I know my post sounds encouraging and hopeful. I am hopeful that my current deep depression will lift and that I will find enthusiasm to start work on that canvas. At the moment I allow myself to rest. Rest from the struggles of the past 12 months. And at times when the fog lifts, I am encouraged to look at the world with different eyes and explore different opportunities.

You have all made a positive impact on my journey and I am sure there are new friends to be made, so I am back and hoepfully this time, here to stay.

Have a great day everyone x

Stupid fire alarms - great when they work properly - annoying when they go off for no reason @Former-Member

You are very sweet to say that - I feel priviledged to get a hug from you - we can feel priviledged together lol

Hello @Niqueeta1 @Faith-and-Hope @Sahara @BlueBay @outlander @Zoe7 @Shaz51

I hope you all had some nice moments today.

I was flat out today, though pretty cruisy as I spent most time on the train (but my battery was flat) - gave me time to do a lot of undisturbed thinking and I took quite a few notes. Met with an inspiring young person and when I got home, I finally got the guts to apply for a job.

Now I will cook something and I thing I will sleep soon after. Like I said, very busy day for me! But I am fairly happy right now, though my emptions took me on a roller coaster ride as usual... every day...

Have a nice evening and I catch up properly tomorrow xoxo

Hi @Former-Member

Hope you're having a good Saturday. I liked the puppies in the other thread. I'm not feeling like coffee or a chat, sorry.

Wrote a post here this morning, which I left unposted in my drafts (or it got deleted). Feeling very low today. Gone back to bed and i think that's where I'll stay for a while, perhaps a few days.

Run raids on the housekeeping from your bed @Former-Member, as a suggestion, and bring food and medicine back to Bed Island when you go to the bathroom.

A thermos of tea is good to have nearby.

That's what I have done at times when Inhave been really low and WH has been away, and the kids at school / uni ..... so there is nobody around to check on my and question the self-care time out.

Part of the self-care is caring enough to eat, drink, wash yourself in some form (shower, wet-wipes, sink-bath, deodorant, combination from the menu) and make sure meds are taken.

Distractions for me include -

Online jogsaw puzzles - https://thejigsawpuzzles.com/

Magazine crosswords,

Tv,

iPad,

Mending bag,

Books / magazines,

Knitting / crocheting

House raids include -

Throwing food into the stock pot or the oven and letting it cook itself,

Putting on a wash load,

Hanging out a wash load,

Bringing in a wash load,

Taking out the rubbish,

Running a hot sudsy sink to dump dishes in and leave there,

Unplugging a cold, non-sudsy sink and letting it drain,

Running new water into a drained sink if dishes and leaving them to soak again,

Unplugging the rinse-water sink and letting it drain itself,

Lifting dishes out of the drained sink tonswe which ones are clean (almost all) and dumping them into a draining basket or on tea towels spread on the kitchen bench and leaving them to dry themselves.

My rule is that I have to have a go at something every time I get off Bed Island, whether it's actually achieved or not.

I hope this helps ...,,,

Hugs @Former-Member 💜

@Faith-and-Hope

Thank you for the list of suggestions. I'm not planning to get off bed island for a while. I feel safe here. I tried to call my psychiatrist today, no luck, so I'll just stay in bed and stay safe. I know I'm withdrawing, but my thoughts are shocking.

I like the idea of calling this a vacation on bed island instead of hiding away from the world.

Running raids on the house is the key @Former-Member. It means that you are taking time out, but you are still functioning.

Each of those raids only takes a moment and very little energy before running back to Bed Island Sanctuary, but it supports your self esteem in an important way.

See how you go. We will be here, as a supportive group of forum friends, any time you want to reach out from Bed Island for some company ..... just know we are here and listening for you Hon .....
