The Weekly Friday Feast

The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank goodness it's Friday (or TGIF as some say!)

We thought we would start a thread where we could come together every Friday and "share a meal" and debrief about our week.

To participate, there are 2 requirements -

1) Bring a (virtual) plate of food

2) Bring a topic of discussion

So pull up a virtual chair, post a picture or description of what (virtual) dish you're bringing along and say hi and let us know how your week was.

Looking forward to seeing you at our first Friday Feast!

Chat soon 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Hi,

This is my first time checking into a Friday feast and now I feel shy I had some tuna for dinner - how exciting! I just wasn't all that hungry. @Shaz51 I hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm just curious...what is it like for you having your GP ask your psych about showing you the report? I very much live by the motto of "nothing about me, without me" and I can't imagine having a healthcare professional who refused (or was even hesitant) to show me a report.

Hi @utopia

It is from the medication he is on

before he was a very light sleeper , and overthinking would keep him awake for hours

but now with his meds , he sleeps all night and still wakes up very tired

it must be frustrating for you at times. -- yes the other night I could not swallow, I was thinking I would have to ring the ambulance as I can`t drive and it is so hard to wake him up

Hello @Phoenix_Rising and welcome to the forum

how has your week been ?

live by the motto of "nothing about me, without me" , love this motto @Phoenix_Rising

I can't imagine having a healthcare professional who refused (or was even hesitant) to show me a report. -- I agree with you totally

My husband who has MI has cancelled psych and healthcare professional help , so we are on our own , our last report was august 2015

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

@Phoenix_Rising No, all good. I was just getting confused cause I only pop in and out on the forums and didn't know if I was missing Shaz51's story.
I guess I'm okay about it. I have a very good relationship with this GP. Once in hospital I totally lost it and sent him a ranting email telling him everything I thought was wrong with the mental health system and he didn't get offended at all! I feel I can go to him about anything. Which is part of the problem, I don't really feel that way with my psychiatrist. Nothing wrong with her per-se, but I've had very bad experiences with psychiatrists in the past and I'm also a very private person.
I'm scared to talk about my illness, diagnosis and the rest and it's 10 times harder to do so to a psychiatrist- who's opinion is weighted much more than a normal GP.
Does any of that make sense?
I guess all in all it's a good thing, it forces me to have more of a conversation with my psych. My GP also wrote that I had a fractious relationship with psychiatry and he wrote that too.
But I just wish I could read my medical record without people asking me questions.
