The Weekly Friday Feast

The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank goodness it's Friday (or TGIF as some say!)

We thought we would start a thread where we could come together every Friday and "share a meal" and debrief about our week.

To participate, there are 2 requirements -

1) Bring a (virtual) plate of food

2) Bring a topic of discussion

So pull up a virtual chair, post a picture or description of what (virtual) dish you're bringing along and say hi and let us know how your week was.

Looking forward to seeing you at our first Friday Feast!

Chat soon 🙂

Tea leaf tea, is that what it's called?

Hi there @Former-Member! Yep, tea leaf tea, or just leaf tea, I reckon sounds about right. Go get that teapot and brew up! It's Tea Party O'Clock!

Lol @Former-Member most definitely! 😜
Yes they do. I used to teach a Japanese mum English, she was so lovely. She would prepare tea, & bring it out on a beautiful plate with some kind of sweet, & on hot days a face washer to wipe my face. Just part of her hospitality. It was a real sharing of culture for sure.

The tea ceremony is beautiful.

I dont do leaf tea ... only herbal tea ... and I often feel like a coffee pot.

Oh wow - that's such a lovely anecdote @Former-Member.

I've just done a search and uncovered this:

Wabi-sabi represents Japanese aesthetics and a Japanese world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete".

How cool is that?? I feel like that's a kind of beauty I can relate to. ☺️

So glad you passed this through! You would have been a great teacher for that Japanese lady. No wonder she looked after you so well!

Had a double shot coffee with caramel slice this afternoon, while out shopping. 😮 Hope I can sleep tonight. 😀

So tired now. Shopped 'til I dropped.

How thoughtful, re the fsce washer. I love it when they give a warm face washer Iin restaurants. Not that I go out lately.

Oooooh! No fair boasting about eating caramel slice @Former-Member! Now I'm salivating. And it's so not a good look.
