The Weekly Friday Feast

The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank goodness it's Friday (or TGIF as some say!)

We thought we would start a thread where we could come together every Friday and "share a meal" and debrief about our week.

To participate, there are 2 requirements -

1) Bring a (virtual) plate of food

2) Bring a topic of discussion

So pull up a virtual chair, post a picture or description of what (virtual) dish you're bringing along and say hi and let us know how your week was.

Looking forward to seeing you at our first Friday Feast!

Chat soon 🙂

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

Oh nice one @Bill16 do you get a round in often? I lost my golf clubs, so I don't have any but I had a really good set. Long story.

Yeah mate, Daniel is test driver for Mercedes and is likely to pick up Hamilton's seat when he retires.

That is fantastic @MDT wishing you and your partner all the best. I hope one day I can have a holliday with my partner. Or at least for us to meet in person.

Yeah up and down @MDT just struggling with being stuck in a constant cycle.

So happy for you mate.

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

I'm hearing ya about the cycle @Jacques
I feel I've got caught in another one.
Forgive me - how old are you? I forgot if you told me.

Yeah having a partner is great but I think that my generation doesn't value effort for relationships. The idea that you could just quit a relationship and find someone else appeals to many. Hook up culture is like that. Everyone is depressed who does it. I don't judge people at all. But it's just a sad thing I'm noticing about modern youth.

Men struggle because we have no good role models. Dunno if you heard of Andrew Tate but he got arrested for human trafficking. Disgusting. He was a role model for some? Sad sign i think.

Anyways my friend I feel like I'm at my wits end with many things and maybe it's because I'm getting close to 30. Idk if this job is for me. Idk if this relationship is for me either. I am questioning so much tbh.
In many ways there are things I'm holding on to that need to be let go of.
There are supports around me and this forum is one kf them I just haven't used for a while. I should tbh.

But anyways man sorry for kind of ranting. Just needed to express what was going on

Re: The Weekly Friday Feast

hi @MDT

yeah it is easy to go to and from cycles and it is so so difficult to break when you are in the depths of one. i will be 41 in a few weeks time, i have never had a job, never had a home to call my own only bought my first car a few years ago and i have never been intimate with anyone and have not had a night away from my parents since 1994. so your doing way better than me mate.

i hear you about the casualisation of relationships and sex. yes i have heard of that animal Andrew tate. his views disgust me and enable men to abuse women without remorse. if you get a chance pleasse look up robbie harvey on facebook, he is an amazing man and his kindness and raw honesty about how men should treat women is just amazing. well worth a look if you get a chance.

re your job and relationship just try to not push yourself so hard, just let things flow and don't put certain demands on yourself and time frames. i remember when we first met you where so devistated you had not had a partner and now you have an amazing partner. i know in this day in age we are forced by society to meet certain dealines in our lives but i garentee you mate that no one has the perfect life no matter how much people try to show it. relationships take commitment, communication and compromise.

anyway i hope you are enjoying your weekend away with your partner. enjoy the time and build on your relationship.
