The Weekly Friday Feast

Thank goodness it's Friday (or TGIF as some say!)

We thought we would start a thread where we could come together every Friday and "share a meal" and debrief about our week.

To participate, there are 2 requirements -

1) Bring a (virtual) plate of food

2) Bring a topic of discussion

So pull up a virtual chair, post a picture or description of what (virtual) dish you're bringing along and say hi and let us know how your week was.

Looking forward to seeing you at our first Friday Feast!

Hi @Mazarita !! I feel like I haven't "seen" you in AGES. The pie looks awesome!

The salad is a prosciutto and fig salad. Didn't want anything to heavy tonight and taking advantage of cheap figs 🙂

Yes, @NikNik, I've been generally withdrawn lately, including the forum. I'm away south next week for a few weeks so won't be around much for a bit longer. But hoping to come back from travelling feeling stronger and less depressed than I do at present. Yum, prosciutto and fig sounds great.

@Jacques - it wouldn't be lying though...

My uncle passed away a few months ago (of natural causes) and he cared for his mum (my nan) for 30 years.

At his funeral, it was often brought up about how special that was - for my nan, for him and for the rest of the family.

It was seen as his most important contribution to the world and his family. We will never forget the care (emotional and practical) he offered my nan. It meant she could stay in her own home for probably 15 years longer than should could have by herself.

Don't under sell yourself - what you do matters.

Is your trip south for a holiday? I hope so!

While you've been away there has been an awesome new thread started by @mrkotter called Recovery Wins. If you feel comfortable & if you feel it's relevant, perhaps you could share your wins in starting to regain your strength. No pressure, it just sprung to mind when I read your post.

Wow @NikNik what a wonderful kind man, it is so hard caring for someone you are right emotionally and physically.

I just always seem to feel like a failure and burden to society. Just my silly thoughts.
