14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Hi @Jacques

It is great to hear that you have been able to open up to @hiddenite. I know It can be hard to open up to people about our problems, but it can often be extremely helpful.

I wonder if there are others that have had difficulty opening up to people in the past? How have people found the courage to open up to others about their worries?

Do you think there is anyone else on the forums that could use some support to open up?

Hi @Former-Member,

Thank you, i have found i have never been able to trust anyone, i have learned the hard way that if i trust someone i make myself vulnerable and it has in the past been used against me, @hiddenite is the first person in 14 years i have allowed in, not just my mental state, but also my deepest fears and thoughts.

I have never told anyone the full story in real life, no one knows how much i struggle, friends, family, medical services, no one.

I am sure their are many on here that could use some support, one must first find the right someone to have a special connection with, @PeppiPatty is very close to @Appleblossom. i am sure their are others, but you have to truly trust someone to open up. Karen is my special person, that someone who understands completely.

Hi Jerry

I find it really difficult to reach out on other people's threads. I worry that I will say the wrong thing or upset them. I even find it too overwhelming to post on Friday night feast or other special nights. It's just how bad things are for me.

My reality is that I spend most days in the car, anything more is a huge struggle.

I am triggered by your picture.

Sorry I don't mean to be like this but it's just how badly I trigger and I do anything not to be triggered. Even the man's face when I come to the sight triggers me. I'm so pathetic I have to close my eyes or look always so I don't see it.

Talking to Jacques I feel safe because he understand.

We have known each other for over a year now and have built a trust in one another.

I don't have any friends not for 24 years since I was 17.

I have been isolated for such a long time.

I hope others can find there safe space and feel free to open up.

Karen

Hi @hiddenite

It sounds like you are pretty tired and suspect you might have Cronic Fatigue Syndrome.

I wonder if it could be helpful to discuss that with some of the other contributors that have had experience with Chronic Fatigue or excessive tiredness such as @Denv12, @PeppiPatty or @chookmojo

Often excercise can help people with their fatigue. What have other peoples experiences been when trying to overcome fatigue?

Re: 14th year house bound

I think @Former-Member the good thing about @Jacques and @hiddenite is that I seem to remember they were struggling with being on another site ...... But I can only read that they are both opening up ..... To others as well. I get good tips from @Jacques on how to treat others and @hiddenite well ...... A good, hard working mother. Her anxiety is so overwhelming for her. Poor darling.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Jerry
Thanks for changing your picture.

I feel so stupid a full blown panic attack over a picture. Chest pain, hard to breathe, shaking.
I hate being so fragile.
