14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi
that's the question. What do I need I really don't know. It certainly isn't going back into the public mhu. Jacques you now what it's like you saw the show.
Every time I have been in the mhu the girls visit every two days and we draw and color , read books , hug and play games.
I am terribly upset with the suggestion that I should lie to them.
The big question how do I help myself without traumatising the girl.

The pressure im under is huge.

I don't have the answers im sorry.

Re: 14th year house bound

Karen the hospitals have some inpatient programs where you g oof a day but go home of a night, maybe worth talking to the care team about

i know you are under a lot of pressure, i wish i could do more to help you, i wish i could be their in person and give you a hug and say it is alright i will help you work through this.

i hope me just being here giving you some encouragement is enough.

i am here my angel, you are not alone.

Re: 14th year house bound

Karen who is saying you should lie to them?

you should always be honest, it is your health, your well being, this can only be achieved through honesty.

i am sure the girls would much rather you get some help than not have you around at all, please be safe, is their any way you can choose a private clinic instead of the public system? does your health insurance cover it? maybe speak to your doctor about the trauma it causes you in the public MHU?

Re: 14th year house bound

Thanks Jacques
as you know the only support I have are the kind people here.

Not having the answers I need is so frustrating.

If they change the medication again it's more withdrawal symptoms and still doesn't mean they will work.

my private health insurance doesn't cover day programs.

The treating team dont know what else to do either.

I hope its ok if I just sit with you for awhile Jacques.

Sorry it did not go the way you wanted@hiddenite

Day programs are a great idea @Jacques They can be public or private ..

Just sitting can be good to help us make decisions.

Motherhood does put us under immense pressure. But it is long term and part of the trick is finding away to reduce the sense of urgency and deflect and manage the pressure.. there is next week and next month.

My son is startng Cinderella tonight and I'll pick him up late.

I have to do my music now. . Good night both of you.

Re: 14th year house bound

well i will tell you about my plans for the kitchen, try to get your mind off of your troubles. i hope that is ok my angel.

well i am planning to get some plat packs from bunnings, 3 single door ones, 1 4 draw (for the utencles, etc, and 1 2 draw one for the pots and pans. i am trying to find a kitchen benchtop to go across in one peice, so their is no join in the top. and i have to find a kitchen sink i want one with 1 sink and 2 stainless steel sides, the new ones only seem to come with one, so i might have to try and find one online. i am going to put in a corner pantry and another benchtop on the opposite side for the microwave and coffee machine.

i am going ot paint the celing white and the walls stow white (like a boney colour) and do a tile splashback.

and new vynal on the floor, some mottled coffee colour. and the skirting boards in varnish timber.

i am sorry this is probably silly with all your problems i just thought it might take your mind off it for a while.
