14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

they are charcole black and so are the cussions. i am going to make some arm rests with drik holders in them, to enjoy spring and summer.

Sounds like you've been working extra hard this week Jacques.

I'm also so proud of you. The effort you have put into talking to other members and threads is awesome. Seeing not so long ago that was not possible. Small steps my friend the progress you have made is wonderful.

Re: 14th year house bound

dear @Mazarita

Interesting whaT you have been writing.

I think everyone on this site are a little impressed and craving @Jacques time, i know i certainly do !

And also..... Karen. I was wondering how to broach the same thing you addressed .......that it feels like a private conversation ......

I dont know if I'm right here, please write if I'm not right but it feels like Karen is just too overwhelmed and things are a little too hard to write to each individually but she addresses different comments to @Jacques but they are really for someone else.

And if we are patient, she will start trusting others.

Its like extrovert / introvert.

......I think it took me over 4 years to trust my Psychotherist, And i was paying her all that time too.!!

One thing you feel about @hiddenite is how hard she works for her children because she truly loves them and she does this without being taught how to love.

@PeppiPattyi could not have said it better myself, i am sorry to make you feel like this was a closed conversation, i see you liking some of my posts and wondered why you rarly responded, now i know, please don't be afraid to speak up if you see me not paying much attention to someone, i will not get offended. it has been a long time since i was in a social situation, and i seem to have lost/forgotten how to interact with people.

@PeppiPattyand others are helping me learn how to socialise again, even if it is only on the forum.

Re: 14th year house bound

yes @hiddenite,

I have been really depressed and anxious the last couple of weeks, doing some hard work (digging moving things, smashing things up) help me relieve some of the overwhelming symptoms. and makes the shed look nice and spacious too

yes you are right 6 months ago i could not have spoken to so many people as i do now on this forum, i still can't talk to people face to face, i freak out, but behind a computer screen i feel safe and less anxious, sometimes.

Karen i have noticed you reaching out to others too, you have made some steps to break free of your MI, what have you and the girls got in store tonight, sewing, colouring in, puzzles? i hope you and the girls have some fun tonight, you need some laughs after the tough week you have had.

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi @PeppiPatty,

I'm really okay with there being a mainly one-on-one conversation now in this discussion thread. I think it's great that @Jacques and @hiddenite have found each other again and are able to offer day-by-day support to each other. Just that I was getting so many messages in my inbox and thought I'd unsubscribe. I've now found a better way to do this in 'account settings'. Always sending well wishes to everyone here. 🙂
