14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Jacques your words are so special to me. No one has ever been so kind and supportive. I read your words but I can't believe that someone would bother to care for me.Jacques you are truly the kindest most thoughtful, considerate, compassionate person I know. They are qualities that not too many people have.

I am eternally grateful to have you as a friend.

I have learnt so much about myself. Shared secrets that I thought I would never tell. I trust you Jacques.

We both have our funny ways but that's what makes us unique

Re: 14th year house bound

Oh Karen, thank yu so much, you deserve such kindness and so much more, you have such a beautiful soul, your care for me is just astounding, i am a stranger but you care for me like i am part of your family, i feel so honoured you trust me, you are an amazing person Karen, and i thank my lucky stars everyday that we met.

Karen these are the qualities that make you such a worth while person, you are so selfless, i know you would do anything to help me, that is a quality not many people have.

Karen i am glad you see that we are all unique, this is not a bad thing, whatever our OCD tendancies are, it makes us who we are. you, me all on this forum and every person is special, we are all unique and we are all worthy of kindness, respect, love and self-contentment.

Please never try to compair yourself to others, i am trying to learn to do this myself, it is hard, it is a human tendancy to compaire, but i am really trying to see myself as worthy, please you try too.

You find things to deal with like using your hand in twisty positions
I just really need complete calm
Today my mum took me and husband out and she just can't help speaking in a way ..... It really makes my hand start shaking

Re: 14th year house bound

For a while at end of my marriage I kept busy with my hands to calm me down .... knitting or tapestry ... but it was also part of what over stressed my nervous system ... I had to get away from the stress and became analytical about my pain.

Most of the time I usually have a bottle of water next to me or in my bag ... we really do need to drink more than was traditionally understood.
