14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Oh no, Karen,

Well try to get the girls and go out just with them, leave your mother at the house, at least you can have a day out without her.

Yes Karen, i am doing some gardening today.

Karen anytime, i am always here for you, if you need the same support tonight i am only a message away.

Good luck today, i hope you manage to have a nice day at least.

Take care, be safe

Thanks Jacques

The girls want to go to the park.

I feel so worn out I don't know if I can even find the energy to go.

Another v would be good:-)

I'm down to one a day now. I've cut the coke down to 300 mls. It's been harder than giving up smoking. But that was 15 years ago.....

Have a nice time in your garden j

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi Karen, the park will be nice, you should just sit at the bench and let the girls play.

Karen, I am so proud of you, I can't believe you are cutting down on the sugar intake, that could be a reason you are able to get your anxiety under control. Less caffeine = less anxiety.

Oh you are a former smoker too, wow it is hard to give up, even now after 12 years I still crave the cigarettes.

Karen you are doing so well. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Hi My angel,

i hope today was ok for you, i know it probably was not, but hang in their, you are almost done, wel ltoday i planted 4 plants, they look fantastic, i will take some photo's of them tomorrow for you.

i have had to move everything in the house today as i have a pest inspection on the house, i like to have everything away from the walls so the pest company i use can get in and out quickly.

so i have been flat out the past 3 days, i am really worn out, and highly anxious, i can't wait for this week to be over.

Karen i hope you and the girls managed to get out of the house, i was thinking if you need a sugar hit, have you thought about eating some fruit, thhey are full of good sugars, to offset the V's and coke? I love bananna's strawberries and Apples. Oranges are too acidic for my stomach.

Well i hope you are ok, my thoughts have been with you all day.

Take care

Jacques

Hi Jacques

Two parks later it was a really cold day.

We came back and did mandalas.

I'm really emotionally warn out.

I look forward to see the photos Jacques, I'm sure they look wonderful.

You have been really busy, no wonder you are exhausted.

I have to be careful what I eat. There are so many things that make the IBS worse.

Too much fibre, can't eat oranges, bananas, leafy green vegetables just to name a few.

Thanks for thinking about me. I can say that you've been in my mind. Trying to picture someone not so scary now I've learnt more about you:-)

Hi Karen,

Wow you made it to two parks, i am sure you are warn out physically and mentally, i can't believe you have made it so long. You have done well so far, just a few more days, i will be here every step of the way.

OMG Karen i can't believe how small pebbles finish a pot plant off so nicely, i can't wait to send you some pics, it is my best planting to date.

I am sorry Karen, i did not think about your IBS, i was just trying to help, i will look up what you can have.

Karen you are always not far from my thoughts, even when i am busy i am wondering what you are up to.

Lol, maybe i am scary, but really just a cuddly bear, i can't believe you would run away from me if you ever saw me, i would probably do the same.

Karen make sure you talk to me when/if you have another panic attack tonight, i really enjoyed our talk last night.

Take care my angel, be kind to yourself

Hi Jacques

Don't be sorry about the IBS stuff everyone is different and different foods can effect someone but not everyone.

If that makes sense

Sorry everything seems really disjointed today.

Jacques it wouldn't matter what you looked like I would still run a mile:-)

It's just me I'm scared of everyone.

Even my psychiatrist I can't make eye contact. My GP I've seen for 10 years I now am unable to stop shaking, stutter, or make eye contact.

Jacques I don't need to have a panic attack to want to talk to you. I look forward to talking with you everyday.

I must admit it was interesting to find out more about you. I couldn't get over you being a lefty. My girls are right handed. So it's just me the odd one out.

Take care j

Karen

Hi My angel,

Yes me too, i run from everyone, i stutter and everything, i must sound like an idiot when i talk.

I look forward to talking to you too. feel free to ask me anything any time, i don't mind, Oh yes, the nun's at the primary school i went to tried to force me to write with my right hand, but it was so unreadable, they just let it be.

i do everything left handed except golf, for some reason i am right handed at golf, weird huh.

Karen, you, me and many others are left handed, i wonder where it comes from?

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi j what are you up to tonight, listening to music or a documentary......

I'm back in this room again so it's all downhill from here. It hasn't become any easier I think I'm just becoming more distressed. The flashbacks and night terrors are getting worse, there is just no way of getting them under control. I'm trying but feel that I have lost the battle.

It's as if it's happening over and over. I don't think it will ever end.

I'm seriously considering putting myself back in the mhu I'm just so lost.

J you know it must be bad for me to do that.

I don't have any solutions.....

Re: 14th year house bound

Yes My angel, some music and some games.

Oh no Karen, i know it is so difficult, you are remembering more and more i would say, i know i do when i have to revisit somewhere i used to know, the memories come flooding back, remember distractio nis key.

Karen i think you need to be in a MHU that specailises in PTSD, to try and get this under control, i know how tough it is for you, as i have said before i could not do what you are doing, it has been so hard to tell my uncle i will not be able to go on hollidays anymore, he has bee nso nice to me and mum, but the stress and long term effects of having to go on hollidays it too much for me.

Karen you need to do what is right for you, your MH is so important, if you are unwell you can't give the girls and your self the proper attention.

Karen i don'tknow how i can help, i hope just talking gives you a moment of reliefe from the anxiety
