14th year house bound

14th year house bound

Hi Everyone,

I am new hear, after being removed from other mental health forums for my depressive thoughts i thought i would give this forum a try, this is my story.

I am 33 live with my mother, i am almost compeatly housebound, i leave my house once in the morning for a walk at 6am and maybe once during the week, both times i leave the house fill me with great anxiety, i have no friends, (the last friend i had was in 2001), i have never had a job, never had a girlfriend and never been able to leave my parents side, my father died in 2001 and i have always suffered seperation anxiety the last time i had a night away from home was 1994 for one night (parents had to pick me up at midnight because i was so frantic).

I have spent most of the past 14 years in my room, or the shed, never much out of the yard, no one in my town knows me, people stare and ask each other behind my back if any one knows who i am.

I have only had an income for the past year and spend the previous 7 with no income at all, mum had to use all of her life savings to allow me to live with her and she now has nothing.

I only want to live long enough to care for her in her old age and then i plan to take my own life, i knew from an early age my life would turn out like this, but had no idea how horrible it would be, every day is the same, i often wonder why i keep going, i have very little contact with family (maybe once a year) and i am really struggling to keep going.

Please don't feel distressed about what i am saying, and i am so sorry if i have offended anyone, it is just how i feel.

Their is so much more, but i will leave it at that for the moment, i am shaking and the anxiety is kicking in so thankyou for reading and i will add more later.

Jacques

Re: 14th year house bound

Thank you @Chris, that is such a nice thing to say, i have been a burden and a curse to her, but i try to help her out as much as i can to repay all she has done for me. i know she loves me, she is so supporting.

yes i thought about a pet 20 years ago, but i would not be able to afford to care for a pet in my current financial situation, and my moods mean i would not be able to give it the attention it deserves. thank you for sugesting it though. so kind.

i hope your son is in a better situation than me, it can be hard living in this world, stress, etc.....

anyway thankyou for speaking to me, i really appreciate it.

Take Care

Jacques

Ok Calm down Jacques, hmmm.

as for the water feature, i have had to put that on hold, i often sit out the back thinking about you, (sorry if that sounds creepy), wondering how you are going, what happened to you, etc....

you where/are my best friend. it is just so nice to see your writting, i am shaking with excitement.

I can't believe this, i have missed you so much, this feels like a dream..

Re: 14th year house bound

I don't believe your a curse to your mum, and I don't think that your mum thinks that. It sounds to me that you are doing the very best that you can.
I understand the financial cost of owning a pet. It's not just the pet food, but the essential vetenary costs.of immunisation flea tick and worming. It all adds up.pets have this way of knowing when something is not right with their owner. I've experience it with both a cat and a dog. They get this look in their eye, and they get physically closer to you.its unconditional love. I keep my distance from humans, including family.if it was just me and my cat I would be happy. I have trust issues among other things.
I wish you well and hope that this forum helps you to connect with people, and gives you some relief and hope.

dear @Chris

And isnt this true.....my dog, Arlo, is constantly running upstairs ...two months ago, my dear friend and neighbour, passed away .....now Arlo is running upstairs and sheinking from my hands when i pick him up from my neighbours doorstop. She, is grieving very badly.

I must comment here..you write that you even aviod your family but you compassion and empathy is spot on here, @Chris

Re: 14th year house bound

Hi @Chris
Yes i know my mu doesn't think that. It is just how i feel. I just wish she could have had a son to be proud of. One who is normal, or as normal as can be.

I sometimes wish i could have a pet, i like cats, i don't know, maybe it is their independence, and acquaintance of mine once had a cat, it qas the only aninal i could touch. As i seem not to be able to pat animals.

Yes i suffer from trust issues, i have been burned by people so many times i have isolated myself for almost 2 decades. I often tell mum i would love to move into the middle of a rain forest. Build a little hut grow some veggies and never see another human again. And i actually mean it!!!

I am too far past getting help, but this forum dies give me some comfort, talking to all of you here. I can't speak to people who don't have this terrible illness, they don't understand and get bored of me quickly.

Thankyou for speaking to me, i really appreciate it, take care.
